Procedures of the a) Introduction – 5 minutes (Involved whole group

activity and individual) -use “finger family song to start
the lesson”

1. I am planning to use the “finger family” nursery

rhyme for my introduction.

2. Before I start the lesson, I will greet with the

children. After that, I ask the children “Children,
have you heard the “finger family” song before? I
will tell the children that we are going to sing the
“finger family” song.

3. After that, I will play the “finger family” nursery

rhyme and sing the song using the finger family
puppets. For example, I will first sing “Daddy finger,
daddy finger where are you?” Then, I will wear the
daddy finger puppet and sing “Here I am, here I am,
how do you do?”

4. I will use all the family finger puppets to complete

the nursery rhyme.

5. After singing the song, I will show the finger family

puppet and ask “Children, how many family
members are here?”. Children need to count the
family finger puppet and answer five.

6. Next, I will also ask the children who are the family
members by showing the finger family puppets. For
instance, I will show the daddy finger puppet and ask
“children, do you know who is he”. At this time, I
will also tell the children that daddy is also called
father and mummy also can be known as mother.

7. I will ask the family members with using all the

finger family puppets.

8. After that, I will tell the children that “today, we are

going to learn about our family members!”

family member)

9. In the activity, children need to do their own family

finger puppets.
10. They need to colour the 5 family members puppets
and cut the puppet

11. Then, they need to glue the puppet according with

their finger sizes.

12. After all the children are done with their family
finger puppet , I will let the children come out one
by one to introduce their family member puppet.

(c)Closing-5 minutes (Involve whole group)

13. I will do a recap by using the family member pictures

and printed vocabulary cards. For instance, I will ask
the children to read out the family member’s
vocabulary on the cards.

14. After doing the recap, I will say “well done children,
you have learned about the family member!”

15. I will praise all the children and say thank you
