ACTIVITY Nº3. HEALTHY HABITS FOR A HEALTHY LIFE


Reading. Read the following text.

Creating healthy habits into your daily routine can have a big impact on your health.
What is a habit? a habit is something that is a routine to you and that you repeat,
often without knowing it, some habits are good; some are bad.
It's hard to change everything all at once; it's easier to set small goals and
achieve them. This helps create good habits. It probably takes you 3 months to
create a new habit.

Here are 6 healthy habits that are recommended

1. Exercise: has many benefits, not only for your


physical health but also your mental health. In your
brain, exercise stimulates chemicals that improve
your mood and the parts of the brain responsible for
memory and learning.

2. Eating: One of the most important healthy habits is to


follow a healthy diet each day. Eat a healthy breakfast,
followed by a light lunch and dinner. You should have a
healthy snack, fat-free dairy products, nuts, seeds
and fresh fruits and vegetables.

3. Drinking water: You should drink plenty of


water and avoid sodas, it is recommendable to drink 2
liters per day (8 glasses). water is important to keep
your body well hydrated.

4. Reducing stress: Everyone feels stress.


It’s a normal response to challenging or dangerous
situations. A small amount of stress can be a good thing and
increase energy and motivation. But too much stress can
make people feel overwhelmed. It can affect quality of life
and cause problems with physical and mental health.

5. Sleeping 7 to 8 hours: good quality sleep is


necessary for a healthy body, efficient metabolism and
for keeping your weight balanced. Most adults need
about 8 hours of sleep per night. Children and
teenagers need more sleep than adults.
6. Healthy relationships: healthy relationship with your partner and family
members can improve your life and make everyone feel good about
themselves
