WRITING TASK 1: BAR CHART

The bar chart compares the proportion of families who owned or rented
accommodation in England and Wales from 1918 to 2011.
It is clear from the graph that the percentage of homeowners was inversely
proportional to the figure for renters. Over the period, the rates of home
ownership increased steadily.
In 1918, home renters accounted for over 75%, which tripled that of families
living in owned accommodation. This number dropped sharply to nearly 70% in
1939. Between 1939 and 1953, house ownership stayed unchanged. After a
dramatical decline in the percentages of house renters, it the percentage of house
renters fell to just 50% in 1971.
From 1971, the percentages of households owning their accommodation
surpassed the figure for renters, and standing at 60% in 1981. From 1971 to 1991,
there was a decrease in the proportion of households who lived in rented
accommodation, from 50% dropped to about 30%, then this figure remained
steady till 2001. There was a small rise of 5% in the percentage of house renters in
the last decade of the period. Thế còn xu hướng của househ
