PRE-ECLAMPSIA IN PIH (CONTINUATION)

Pre-Disposing Factors of Pre-Eclampsia:


1. Primipara 1. Mild eclampsia
2. Multi gestation → Increase in weight because of edema
3. Low Socio-economic Status → (+) 1, (+) 2 Proteinuria
4. H.Mole → BP: 140/90
5. DM
6. Age extreme
7. Chronic HTN
8. Chronic Kidney Disease 2. Severe Pre-eclampsia
→ 160/100 BP
→ Visual Disturbances
→ Epigastric pain
Drugs used in Pre-eclampsia:
○ Oliguria
1. MgSO4 (Magnesium Sulfate) Increase in
○ Pulmonary Embolism
- Prevent seizure Blood Pressure
○ Pulmonary Edema
- Hinahalo to sa water :)) not IV Push
○ Elevated Liver Enzyme
- Muscle Relaxation/Relaxant
2. Hydralazene:
- Hypertensive Medication Low Blood supply in the
- Causes Peripheral Dilation (Function to ah!!) organ especially in
- Prevent vasoconstriction retina.
3. Diazepam
- Halt Seizure
- CNS Depressant
4. Calcium Gluconate 3. Eclampsia
- Antidote for MgSO4 → Triad signs are present (HEP/A)
→ Oxygen should be on the bed side for emergency
seizure

Mgt.
→ BP Monitoring
Conservative treatment: No Hypertensive med are given 3 Triad signs:
Delivery: Magnesium Sulfate to prevent Seizure H- Hypertension
E- Edema
P/A- Proteinuria/Albuminuria
