Skills learnt during the project:

1. Communication Skills
I learnt the importance of communication skills during this project. Since there were many of us
from different countries and culture, communication became essential in understanding all sorts
of instructions exchanged. Once, a teammate of mine was trying to explain the rules of the
online game that confused us rather than illuminate. Therefore, we had to ask him many
questions before we understood what he meant. It is very clear to me that I must learn effective
communication to avoid any misunderstanding.

2. Leadership Skills
I understood that leadership is a quality and not a position when I was a member of this
organizing committee. Though I was not the leader, I realized that when there was a delay in
completing the poster design by the sub-committee of marketing, I immediately approached the
team and volunteered my time and also guided them as I was more experienced than others in
this field. I realized that informally, they have accepted my leadership at the moment because I
provide guidance and vison by example- as a leader would.

Skills relevant for my future

1. Time Management
As a student, I was bogged down with lots of assignments, classes and projects. As such,
managing my time became essential in completing my work. I learnt how to prepare a personal
timetable with appropriate amount of time allocated for each task. Only with proper time
management that I was successful. I realized that this skill is indispensable for my future growth
as work life will be filled with many tasks, Therefore, only by mastering my time management
skill will I be able to complete all my task on time

2. Teamwork
Our event was successful because we worked as a team. All of us helped each other in every
aspect of planning and execution. Everyone who could spare a little time helped others who
were constraint with time. I learnt the importance of teamwork. This spirit will be immensely
important in my future. I cherish teamwork. I know everyone at work appreciates a team player.
When we work together, we complete work on time every time.
