WEEK 1

ACTIVITY 1
Introduce yourselves in class by saying your name, stating the community where you are from and describing your
community. Complete the sentence below:
My name is Genevieve R. Camacho of Brgy. Cruz Roja Cabanatuan City , Nueva Ecija which known for
livelihood activities.
ACTIVITY 2
Discuss among your group which of the institutional core values will be most significant in conducting community
engagement activities. Choose a representative who will explain your top 3 answers to the rest of the class.
I think that the most significant among core values is E which stands for (EFFICIENTLY
ENTREPRENEURIAL and EMPLOYABLE) because as a hospitality management student I do believe that my
community needs an assessment for them to survive everyday living. It is a way for them to discover innovative
entrepreneur opportunities. By that, my community will have a positive outcome and creative mindset.

WEEK 2
ACTIVITY 1
In a piece of paper, draw an object that best symbolizes your community. Share your drawing with your group and
discuss the similarities and differences of your communities.

ACTIVITY 1 & 2
What are the competencies of your degree program that can be shared to the community? What cluster in the
HELPS program does your degree belong to?
This degree (hospitality management) I taken will be a way by imparting my knowledge in informing them what food
service is and how it would works. Also, to contribute huge planning execution in service and food production
industry. This program was included under livelihood aspect because it is based on the activities that need decision
making process and to support families’ income.

WEEK 4

ACTIVITY 1
Can you consider yourself a leader? Draw an object or animal that would symbolize your leadership style if you were
the leader in your community.

I’m the one who act as a mother in our family and I do most of the chores activities in our house.

I got involved in joining sport teams in our barangay and I’m the one who organized the event.

WEEK 5
ACTIVITY 1
Go to your assigned community as a group. Interview at least 3 community leaders. These may be barangay officials
and/or leaders of people’s organizations.
Guide Questions:
1. What is your position? What are your duties and responsibilities?
2. How long have you been a leader in your organization? How were you selected?
3. What are your goals for your organizations? What changes do you want to implement?
4. What are the common problems you encounter in your organizations? How do you address these
problems?

ACTIVITY 2
Based on your interviews, identify the leadership styles of the people you interviewed in the community. Explain why
you think they display such style of leadership. You may use the matrix as a pattern.

1. What is/are the principles of community engagement applied by your college?
ANSWER: OLFU CHIM gathered some activities like feeding program, tree planting and service awareness.
2. What is the level of engagement of your college with their partner community?
ANSWER: The level of engagement that our college had is the non-participation level because our department aims
to educate people on how to survive and to do a plan for their daily life.
3. In what modality of community engagement are your college community activities at the moment? Give
examples.
ANSWER: The modality of engagement that our college had is the transcendental because our department see
ourselves to change the thinking of people in the specific community and into logical mindset.
