Problem 1:
Consider a Sinusoid mechanism with lAB = 0.05m, mass of link 2 is
m2 = 0.4 kg, the center of mass is at B. Mass of link 3 is m3 = 0.5 kg.
The force acting on link 3 is P3 = 20 N, and the direction is as shown.
Determine:
a. Equivalent resistance moment placed on link AB.
b. Equivalent moment of inertia placed on link AB at φ1 = 450.

Problem 2:
Consider a Sinusoid mechanism with lAB = 0.1m; φ = 450.
a. Draw the polygon vector diagram to determine the ratio vD/ω1
b. Determine the direction and magnitude of equivalent resistance
moment placed on link 1. The force acting on link 3 is P3 = 1000 N,
and the direction is as shown.

Problem 3:
Consider the crank-slider mechanism with: lAB = 0.3 m; m3 = 2 kg;
φ = 600. ABC = 900, P3 = 100 N acting on link 3 is along the sliding
direction.
a. Determine the equivalent moment of inertia on link 1.
b. Determine the equivalent resistance moment on link 1.

Problem 4:
Consider the quick-return mechanism: BAC = 900, BCA = 300, lAB = 0.1 m.
Moment M3 = 200 Nm acting on link 3.
a. Determine the equivalent resistance moment.
b. Determine the equivalent moment of inertia. The mass m2 = 2 kg is
placed at B and moment of inertia of link 3 is JS3 = 0.32 kgm2.

Problem 5:
The equivalent resistance moment has the form as shown.
The driving moment is constant.
a. Determine the driving moment for a steady working condition.
b. Determine the moment of inertia of the flywheel. Where,
average angular speed ωtb = 10 (rad/s), limitation of speed
fluctuation coefficient [δ] = 0.2 and Jtt = 0.18 kgm2 = const.

b. Determine the moment of inertia of the flywheel.

Problem 8:
The equivalent resistance and driving moment in a period Φω = 2π
has the form as shown. The driving moment is constant.
Equivalent moment of inertia J0 = 0.1π (kgm2) (constant). Angular
velocity of spindle measured at φ = π/4 is ω(π/4) = 20 (rad/s).
Determine the velocity of the spindle at φ = 3π/2.
