Aim: To investigate whether the temperature of the water will affect the rate of dissolution of
coffee

Hypothesis: The coffee will dissolve faster in warmer temperatures of water

Equipment:
1. 5 plastic cups
2. 5 cups of different temperatures of water
3. 1 tablespoons of coffee powder
4. Thermometre
5. Timer
6.

Independent variable: Temperature of water

Dependent variable: Dissolution rate of coffee in different temperatures of water

Risk assessment:

Risk Injury Prevention

Water Burns while handling hot Be careful and use gloves if

water necessary

Method:
1. Get a plastic cup
2. Pour 250ml of water in cup making sure its at 20 C degrees
3. Get 1 tablespoon of coffee powder
4. Put it in the cup and time how long it takes to dissolve in the water
5. Repeat steps 1-4 5 times
6. Record the results in the result table and get the average
