School- Based “Orientation on Training on Communicating Volcano,


Program Title Earthquake, and Tsunami Hazards for DepEd Elementary School Teachers”

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and seismology (PHIVOLCS) is a service


institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) that is principally
mandated to mitigate disaster that arise from volcanic eruptions, earthquakes,
tsunami, and other related geotectonic phenomena. It is to prepare the teachers,
young learners, office, and community.
Program Rationale & Objectives This is aims:
1. To strengthen the readiness and stability of the people in the school, office,
and community against the challenge of disasters, improves learners.
2. To aware the learners and teachers in times of Tsunami when they are in the
places that tsunami may be experienced.
