This sheet is intended to elaborate the stability analysis of weir against sliding, overturning, bearing and, in combination
with earthquake forces in order to achieve cost effective weir design.

Assumptions:
1. The stability of the main weir structure is assumed to be most critical, and is seperately analysed here.
2. Potential increase in bearing capacity in case of earthquake, as per clause 3.3.3 of IS1893, is ignored here
3. Cohesion of the material at the plane considered, has been ignored.
4. The foundation is assumed to rest on rock layer
5. Silt load is assumed to be present upto the weir crest
