Lesson 4 : Colors

Assignment :

1. Choose two thumbnails from the previous lessons (or create new
ones). They should be story moments that have different moods and
settings. For each one, develop a value sketch that is solidly
constructed from basic geometric shapes.

2. Create 2 different color palettes for each of the two sketches,

presented as rough color thumbnails. Try realistic color and light
conditions, but also palettes that would not exist in the real world.
The colors should not be random, they have to express the emotion
of the story at that moment.

– Look at your 10 favourite artists and observe how they use color, to
create emotion and contrast.
