Objectives:
Design an outline of a tricycle or a jeepney on a big paper with lines and
shapes that show repetition, contrast and rhythm
Make a design based on the Philippine jeepney and color it using primary
colors arranged in a balanced pattern. Use a drawing notebook or any
clean sheet of paper.

In this lesson, you will study printmaking. You will study the different types
of prints like banana trunk prints, eraser prints, found object prints, cutout
designs, and card making. Other topics that will be studied are the
following:
1. Elements of Arts: Shapes, Textures, Colors
2. Principles of Design: Repetition and Contrast
Objectives:
Identify natural man-made objects with repeated or alternated shapes and
colors and materials that can be used in print making
Activity 1:

Study the patterns. How is repetition shown? Describe them in terms of

Carves a shape or letter on an eraser or camote, which can be painted and
printed several times

Banana stalk small watercolor brush
Small knife/cutter pencil
Poster color or water color oslo paper
Procedure:
Note: Ask help from your parents in cutting the banana stalk that you cut in
half.
1. Draw a design with a pencil on the flat surface of a banana stalk that
you cut in half.
2. Cut away the part of the banana stalk outside the design, so the
design becomes raised.

1. Cut out pictures of various Filipino sculptures from magazines or
newspapers.
