JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Network Architect Lead Level/Designation: L2/GM;L3/DGM


Department: Global System Integration Business Unit: 5G Business
Reporting to: 5G Transport Head work Location: Gurgaon
Full Time  FTE Contractual
Job Purpose
IP network architect for product standardization and POC testing

Key Responsibilities

1. End to end responsible for planning, testing, and deployment for L2/L3 based routers in different layers like FHW,
access, aggregation, and core network.
2. Study closely on the customer requirement, different standards, and competitor’s product information to
finalize the requirement for the MRD and PRD of the new product in the IP domain so that the product is
future proof ready.
3. Prior experience on the POC and working closely with the RnD team for the successful testing in Lab and
then proposing the solution for the Lab testing or in premise set up of customer.
4. Well versed on the deployment and operation scenarios of FHG, CSR, access router and aggregation router
based on the 4G and 5G network architect requirements.
5. Guide team for the prepare of HLD and LLD of the solution.
6. Work closely to prepare detailed test cases for the ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) at LAB for the proof of
concept and different customer specific test cases for the field.
7. Need to work with the partner for the different test case and any inter op test requirements for the actual
filed testing.
8. Close coordinating with the RnD team for the closer or any technical issue raised in the testing and getting
that singed of with the customer by doing lab demo or on-premises testing.
9. If any patch is required to be develop then work closely for the resolution with RnD/partners and get that
validated with customer by testing in premise or through our RnD lab.
10. Competitor analysis and making technical comparison and evaluate if any feature needs to be included in
our product and try to evaluate new feature requirement for the product in advance.
11. Explore the opportunities to look for the out of the box solution with the existing products.
12. Work on the project deployment for troubleshooting and giving technical support to the field team.
13. Work for taking the whole IP portfolio to the next level to support on the cloud architecture.
14. Trying to build new relationship with other companies to build a compact and flexible product through APIs.
15. Lead the whole team and take them to the next level by supporting technically and guiding in the right
direction as per their interest.
16. Working on the Bogs and content preparation for the internal and external marketing through international
forums.

Key Deliverables
1. Closely working on the customer requirement, different standards, and competitor’s product information to
finalize the requirement for the MRD and PRD of the new product.
2. Close coordinating with the customer and RnD team for the closer or any technical issue.
3. Transmission (IP/Optical) equipment commissioning and testing POC with customer successfully.
4. Preparing technical documents for product requirement and ATP.
5. Work on taking IP product to the cloud architecture.

Functional Competency
Qualification

Required Preferred

B. Tech – ECE or CS 1. Experience in IP planning, traffic provisioning, testing, and deployment


2. Good knowledge of cloud and orchestrator will be added advantage.
3. Exposure on API will be added advantage.

Mandatory Skills/ Certification

 At least 5/7 years of experience in product test and L2/L3 protocol testing.
 Strong Knowledge on L2, L3 Protocols for IP Networks (DHCP, DNS, VLAN, PPP, ICMP, ARP, NAT,
QoS, TCP/UDP, etc). Good usage knowledge on IP/IPv4/IPv6 Network Troubleshooting & related
tools (PING, Traceroute, nslookup, Packet capture, Speed test, etc).
 Strong understanding of networking technologies: L2/L3 switching (STP, LACP, etc.), VxLAN,
routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP etc), VRRP, 802.1Q, IRB, BVI, GRE, VRF, BFD, QoS, Policy
Based Routing, packet sniffing, etc.
 Good understanding of the SRv6.
 ISIS, OSPF, BGP extensions to segment routing, SR-MPLS, BGP-EPE, SRTE, Flex-Algo, SR-PCE, SR-
ODN, SR-PM, etc.
 Familiarity with common industry test equipment (Cisco Switches/Routers, IXIA traffic
generator, Spirent test equipment) is a must.
 Hands on cisco and Juniper routers are of added advantage. Good if the candidate is having
JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, or CCNP certifications (any of them).
 IP and DCN planning for sites with routers, servers, BSCs, RNCs or any other nodes.
 Should have experience on GNSS, PTP, SyncE (timing & synchronization for 4G/5G networks)
set-up.
 Installation, commissioning, configuration, and testing of different set of routers.
 Good exposure of DCI network planning.
 Exposure on different RFP/RFI for SOC and solution preparation.
 Exposure of Radio will be an added advantage.
 Aware on the functionality of transmission media test equipment (Optical light meter, power
meter, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer - OTDR)
 Multivendor experience of Cisco/Juniper/Huawei/ZTE will be added advantage.
 High level understanding of LTE, 5G and O-RAN along with its different deployment scenarios.

Required Experience
 10-15 years of experience in the field of Transmission (IP) designing, planning, testing and trouble
shooting.
 Experience on 4G IP transport networks (access, aggregation, and core).
 Experience in Pre-sales will have additional advantage.
