 Improved outcomes observed (e.g. asymptotic compressive strength;
porosity) while using nanosilica as additive in Portland-based pastes;
‚ Synergic effects may result while using combination of nanosilica and
standard additives in Portland-based pastes;
ƒ Surface functionalization of nanosilica is a promising direction to
explore, aiming at improvements of Portland-based pastes’ properties;
„ A model picture for the influence of nanosilica in the pozzolanic
reaction is not yet available;
