General Description
Electrical Power System
Effectivity : ALL

A. Introduction
The electrical power system supplies the helicopter systems with the required
electrical energy. The DC power system is the base of the power system. DC power
is supplied from the battery or the generator(s), if one or two engines are running. If
the EPU is connected and active, the power is supplied from the EPU only.
One ore more inverters are used to form AC power out of DC power.

B. AC Power System
The AC power system supplies the helicopter with 26 V AC and 115 V AC, both at
400 Hz.

C. DC Power System
The battery supplies 24 V DC for the basic source of electrical energy. When the
engines are running, the two generators supply 28 V DC and charge the battery.

D. Emergency Power
A separate power module supplies 24 V DC as emergency power for the standby
horizon 34-24-00 and the emergency lighting 33-50-00.

E. External Power Receptacle

To save the battery power for emergency operation it is possible to supply the
helicopter with 28 V DC via the external power receptacle.

F. DC Power Distribution
The DC power from the EPU, battery and generators is connected to the distribution
panels via the BATTERY BOX, AFT JUNCTION BOX L/H and R/H and the NO.1 and
NO.2 MAIN DISTRIBUTION BOX.
The distribution panels are the overhead panel, the left and right distribution panel in
the cabin and additional panels depending on the customer’s configuration.

G. Utility Receptacle
For the supply of additional power consumers, receptacles are installed in the
helicopter, depending on the customer’s configuration.
