Greetings,

I’m Sruthi Shanmugam, an undergraduate student pursuing Economics Honours from Miranda
House College, University of Delhi. Thank you for considering my application for an Internship
at McKinsey & Company.

Given the opportunity to join McKinsey, I would bring the following skills to the firm:
● Problem-solving capability: Leading a project and a team of 20+ members in the
Enactus chapter at our college comes with its own share of learnings and challenges.
Here, we equip underprivileged communities with access to information, funding, and
business model with the goal of making the community self-sustainable. As the Project
Head, I’ve come up with an innovative idea for our new project that is due to be launched
soon. My team and I have also been shortlisted for the final round at IIIT Delhi’s Pitch
Cafe competition for the same.
● Corporate Skills: My previous internship experience with the youth-run organisation
AIESEC in India allowed me to handle and communicate with corporate clients. I bring
clean communication and regular updates to the table. I managed around eight corporate
clients in the Delhi NCR region and offered them our services.
● Data Analysis: From being part of my coursework in college to being the Treasurer of
the Robotics Society, which provides non-CS background students with the knowledge of
crucial skills like Python, Data Analysis, ML, and R. I am deeply passionate about the
curation of data. I have also practically used it in my internship with AIESEC in India for
targeting the supply of certain candidate requirements in specific IRs
● Interest in Consulting: I have also taken part in various case competitions across
colleges and have also won a couple of them. Consulting is a topic that definitely piques
my interest and I would continue to try my best to learn more about it.

Securing an internship at your esteemed company would be my ultimate achievement. My

experience and academic record have had the objective of developing exceptional analytical and
quantitative problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
that is non-negotiable for McKinsey. I would love to move ahead with the process for this
