Sub: Instrumentation and structural assessment of Major Bridges in between ETM-KTYM-CGV

In connection with the above subject, instrumentation of 12 spans of major bridges in ETM-
KTYM-CGV section in TVC division of Southern Railway is required in Phase I for structural
assessment of the PSC Girders. Similar structural assessment was done by CSIR-SERC for Railway
Bridge No. 493 between Villupuram and Mayavaram in November 2010 for the problem of
negative camber in 18.3 m PSC U-girder after its commissioning. The scope of work includes
design proof check for various speeds and different degrees of curvature of PSC U Girder Design,
all tests & procedures, core-pertaining, FEA modelling and instrumentation etc to study the health
of bridge Girders. A report on the fitness of Bridge to carry 25 T loading along with permissible
speed is to be accessed and report is to be submitted.
Hence it is requested to mobilize your team at the earliest and submit details of the scheme
and necessary charges of the above work.
