2.0 FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

2.1 REFLECTIVE CEILING PLAN

A reflected Ceiling Plan is a type of architectural drawing, where the ceiling plan is
projected onto a flat plane placed directly below, intended to display the orientation or
position of various electrical or mechanical objects located on the ceiling. It's also known as a
compatible printout that gives an indication in terms of dimensions, materials and any other
important information about the ceiling in each room.

FIGURE 6: Data artificial lighting reading in Studio AP1308 (measured by using Lutron
LM-8100)

Based on figure 6 above, it shown that the lighting condition in the studio has a
relatively bright lighting rate from a relatively high lux reading in the whole studio. The
lighting rate is nearly the same and fair based on the lux reading recorded. However, the lux
reading at the right angle of the studio is recorded higher than the entire studio.

FIGURE 7: Data of natural lighting reading in Studio AP1308 (measured by using Lutron
LM-8100)

2.3 MATERIAL AND FINISHES OF THE FLOOR, WALL AND CEILING

1.Wall (Plaster Wall)

Plaster is a building material used for the protective or decorative coating of walls and
ceilings and for moulding and casting decorative elements. The plastering of walls, ceilings,
and other structural surfaces, cement based plastering creates a hard and smoothed out finish
that can be painted or used to create an ideal substrate for wallpaper and vinyl sticker
applications to walls.
2.Floor (Ceramic Tiles)

Ceramic tiles are the most common floor finishing materials used. Ceramic tiles are a mixture
of clays and other natural materials, such as sand, quartz and water. Primarily used in houses,
restaurants, offices and so on. They are easy to fit, easy to clean, easy to maintain and are
reasonably priced. Can withstand high temperatures and acidic materials.
3.Lamp (Fluorescent Lamp)

Fluorescent lamps are one of the most common lamps used. A fluorescent lamp, or
fluorescent tube, is a low-pressure mercury-vapor gas-discharge lamp that uses fluorescence
to produce visible light.

4.0 CONCLUSION

This analysis found that Studio AP1308 met the lighting needs for a JKR-conducted
room and classroom. As a result the ceiling lamp as its main lighting source, resulting in an
important reliance on electricity. The classroom does not depend only on artificial lighting, a
natural source of illumination was also coming from the existing window in the studio.
Therefore, it keeps the classroom bright even though it's dim during the day. The
management of university facilities should bear in mind the upkeep of Studio AP1308's
existing light source to change most productivity and performance of its functionality.
Applicable and effective steps to boost the acoustics within the area ought to even be
considered to create the user feel lighter and exploit the studio for an extended amount of
time.
5.0 RECOMMENDATION

Based on the lighting analysis of studio culture, some recommendations can be taken
into account based on the study carried out at Studio AP1308.

The studio must be sufficiently lit to guide students and the audience safely to their
seats. Every student’s table must be provided with a table lamp. The table lamp will be put to
good use by students. Students may use the light only for the uses on their desks. For
example, during tracing activities. It also helps to reduce electricity costs when studio lights
illuminate areas when there are no students at their tables.500 lux is the recommended
illuminance level during lectures to ensure students have enough light to take notes, finish
drawing and build a model comfortably.

Ceiling lights increase security, but their light needs to be soft so as not to cause glare
from laptops into the eyes. The glare rating of the lighting should not be higher than 19 to
avoid glare that limits the student's view. Last but not least, proper maintenance must be
performed regularly to ensure the high performance and quality of the existing fixture. It
should not flicker light issues or repeated lamp failure to bypass user restrictions.
