EQUIPMENT TYPE HAND HELD CO2 FIRE EXTINGUISHER (PRO 10 CDM)
INTERVAL 1 YEARLY
PRECAUTIONS

1. Obtain an approved Work Permit before commencing activities. 


PREPARATION/ISOLATION

2. Check that the equipment tags are as detailed on work order sheet/work permit.  
INSPECTION ACTIVITY

3. Remove the extinguisher from service and replace with a spare unit of the same type.

Note: All part numbers referenced in parentheses are taken from the exploded parts drawing, Fig. 4,
shown in the vendor manual.
4. Remove the ‘Pull-Tight’ seal (9) and valve locking pin (10) from the extinguisher handle. Fully
discharge the extinguisher to check the operation of the discharge valve. 
5. Remove the horn (6) and hose (5) assembly from the extinguisher valve body (25). Perform 5 yearly
hydrotest as per manufacturers instructions, if necessary, according to the inspection record. 
6. Install the extinguisher onto the recharge system rack and connect it to the recharging pump as
illustrated in Fig. 1 of the vendors manual, using the charging adapter (part no. 33846). 
7. Squeeze the activating lever and handle together to open the extinguisher valve fully. 
8. Charge the cylinder to the specified ‘total charged weight’ value stamped on the extinguisher body. 
WARNING: DO NOT CHARGE TO MORE THAN SPECIFIED WEIGHT.

9. Release the activating lever and handle to close the extinguisher valve.

10. Vent the CO2 pressure in the charging line and disconnect the charging adapter.

11. Test all joints around the extinguisher valve for leakage using a proprietary leak test solution.

12. Replace the locking pin (10) through the extinguisher handle and adjusting the locking ring if
necessary by loosening the ring set screw and adjust locking ring so that slight tension is placed on
the locking pin. Re-tighten the set-screw. 
13. Fit a new ‘Pull-Tight’ seal (9)
14. Reassemble horn (6) and hose (5) assembly to the extinguisher valve body (25).

15. Complete the service record tag, place the extinguisher back in service and remove the spare unit.

16. Sign off the Work Permit.
