DISPLAY

The display screen is divided into 3 areas, with the largest taking the right hand side and
designated main or working area; the upper left is the performance section, whilst the lower
left is designated monitoring.

To select which page you wish to view in each screen can be achieved in various ways; pre
selection using the F keys is one way in which all three screens can be set, such that pushing
the relevant key will automatically select all 3 screens to the pre-determined views.
Individual screen selection is possible by positioning the cursor in the screen section and right
clicking the mouse button, this will bring up a dialogue box showing the views available for
that particular screen, that required can be selected using the cursor.

There are also buttons on the panel which are labelled with the particular display and which
when pressed will automatically display the allocated page on the working areas.

Working area

The usual display for this area is the position plot, which shows the vessel position, with the
range and rings determined by a pre-set value and displayed in the top right of the screen, but
varied using the cursor and arrows above them. The range, orientation and/or screen centre
can also be adjusted to suit requirements using the drop down cursor dialogue as follows:

View Control –
Mode – changes relative/true
Show – as defined
Grid – changes between rings and square background
Range – select scale
Trace – allows for trace to be switched in showing movement and also selects time
span for thrusters, power, etc. when trends are selected.

Centre Here – Allows centre of screen to be changed to desired position (eg view ahead)

Zoom – can be used on graphs and others to enlarge display area

The Lower section of the dialogue box allows for selection of the desired view as follows:

Pos Plot – normal display – as shown

Conning – used for autopilot and autotrack modes
Power – shows power configuration, thruster demand and total power consumption.
Thruster - sub-menu allows for overall picture or details on each individual thruster
Ref sys – sub-menu brings up selection for all, with weighting or performance for each
individual unit and to indicate which is “reference origin”. There is also the
facility to show the sensors (gyros/VRS/wind) to allow selection of the
preferred and back-ups.
Utilities – sub-menu to select trends for current/wind etc.(Time span set in trace). Also
shows the set and available rotation centres.
Capabilities – provides details of the on-line predictions regarding position retention.
Performance – this provides clear and precise views regarding performance for
generators, deviation and xxxx

NB. All of the above (except for performance) can also be selected using allocated panel
buttons.
