KARL PEARSON’S COEFFICIENT OF CORRELATION

Ex.No :
Date :
Aim:
To compute the correlation of Karl Pearson’s coefficient using MS Excel
Procedure:
Step 1: Enter the data (X & Y) in MS Excel worksheet.
Step 2: Find the mean of X and Y values.
Step 3: Calculate the dispersion of X and Y values by x = X – X and y = Y – Y (X=
Individual value and X = Mean value )
Step 4: Find x²,y² and xy values.
Step 5: Find the sum of x,y,x²,y² and xy using Σ in the standard tool bar.
Step 6: Find the correlation of Karl pearson’s coefficient (r) by using the following formula
r=Σxy / √ Σx² × Σy²
X Y x = X- y = Y- x² y² xy
