A New Creation in Christ

“Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water
and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that
which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
John 3:3, 5-6 NKJV

The flesh will always crave the things of the flesh.

A person who is born of the Spirit will crave the things of the Spirit of God.

“Ang mga namumuhay ayon sa hilig ng laman ay walang pinapahalagahan kundi ang mga bagay na
ukol sa laman; ngunit ang mga namumuhay ayon sa Espiritu ay nagpapahalaga sa mga bagay na
espirituwal. Ang pagsunod sa hilig ng laman ay naghahatid sa kamatayan, ngunit ang pagsunod sa
Espiritu ay nagdudulot ng buhay at kapayapaan.”
Mga Taga-Roma 8:5-6

“Hindi maikakaila ang mga hilig ng laman: pakikiapid, kahalayan at kalaswaan; pagsamba sa diyus-
diyosan, pangkukulam, pagkapoot sa isa't isa, pag-aaway-away, pagseselos, pagkakagalit at
kasakiman, pagkakampi-kampi at pagkakabaha-bahagi, pagkainggit, paglalasing, kalayawan, at iba
pang katulad nito. Muli ko kayong binabalaan: ang gumagawa ng mga ito ay hindi magkakaroon ng
bahagi sa kaharian ng Diyos.”

A new creation does not want to continue in sin

“No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot
sin continually, because he has been born of God.”
1 John 3:9 NASB

A new creation has the mind of Christ

“Hindi ba’t walang nakakaalam sa iniisip ng isang tao maliban sa kanyang sariling espiritu? Ganoon
din naman, walang nakakaalam sa iniisip ng Dios maliban sa kanyang Espiritu. At ang Espiritu na ito
ng Dios ang tinanggap nating mga mananampalataya, hindi ang espiritu ng mundong ito, upang
maunawaan natin ang mga pagpapalang ibinigay sa atin ng Dios. Ayon nga sa sinasabi ng Kasulatan,
“Sino ba ang nakakaalam ng isip ng Panginoon? Sino ba ang makakapagpayo sa kanya?” Ngunit
tayo, taglay natin ang pag-iisip ni Cristo, kaya nakakaunawa tayo.”
1 Corinto 2:11-12, 16

A new creation have new desires

I. You will desire the word of God

“as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,”
I Peter 2:2 NKJV

II. You will desire God more than anything in this world
“Whom have I in heaven [but You]? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.”
Psalms 73:25 AMP

III. You will desire to pray

“Indeed, in the path of Your judgments, O Lord, We have waited expectantly for You; Your name,
even Your memory, is the desire and deep longing of our souls. In the night my soul longs for
You [O Lord], Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For [only] when Your judgments
are experienced on the earth Will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.”
Isaiah 26:8-9 AMP

IV. You will desire to know Him intimately

“As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks, So my soul pants [longingly] for You, O God. My
soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. When will I come and see the face of
God?”
