A. APPLICATION
INSTRUCTION: Relate the following exercises to real-life situations, then write your
answers on the spaces provided.
1. Together with your classmates or groupmates, conduct a planning session with your
community leaders regarding possible community immersion activities. List down and
explain the activities.
Answer: This project proposal aims to give the Grade 1students of Jibolo Elementary School
school supplies and sanitary kits to help students in their academic education and as well as to
inspire them to continue striving on their studies and to establish relationships with their
parents, mentors and the students which are based on personal connection and experiences
rather than gift-giving.
The activities are the following:
1. NARROWING DOWN
The student representative scheduled a virtual meeting with the entire section to discuss
and share everyone's ideas for our outreach campaign. We talked about a variety of options
for recreation. We can either give them a sanitation kit that includes a facemask, alcohol,
sanitizer or school supplies and we decided to do both.
2. PLAN OF ACTION- 1 DAY
We will be delivering the school supplies, including notebooks, paper, pencils, and
sharpeners, at Jibolo Elementary School in Januiay. We will also be giving sanitation kits to
the students, including alcohol, facemasks, and a sanitizer, with the help of the teachers.
3. PREPARATION OF GOODS- 3 DAYS
When it comes to preparing items for the community project, three days will be allocated to
buying and packing the gifts for the project. The grocery, as mentioned above, we will be
purchasing hygiene items and school necessities that the kids need. It includes notebooks,
pencils, paper sheets, sharpeners, and erasers packed in a plastic envelop that they can use.
Also, facemasks, alcohol, towel, and soap will be put in plastic bags.

4. TRAVELLING TO LOCATION- 4 HOURS

Since our group members came from different places in Iloilo, the travel fare cost will
almost cost 280 pesos for each member who are far from Janiuay. The estimated traveling
through the program's location is assumed to be within 3 hours, including the bus and the
tricycle rides. Thus, we ensure to observe the rules and protocols in this pandemic while
traveling.
5. DISTRIBUTION OF GOODS
The event will begin with a warm welcome and enjoyable activities and conversations with
the children will be prepared. After that, we will start to deliver school supplies and sanitary
items. While doing so, some of our members will take photos to prove that we conducted
the community project successfully.

2. Implement the activities you have planned. What are your observations?
Answer: Joining an outreach program or charity will redefine your idea of kindness once you get
to interact with the people you're helping and they show you what it truly means to be kind.

B. REFLECTION
INSTRUCTION: Write your reflection on the spaces provided.
1. What should your frame of mind be when conducting
participatory planning with community members?
Answer: Team members should be chosen from a broad range
of community stakeholders, be willing to commit personally to
the full range of responsibilities of being a member of the team,
and be willing to work towards consensus in decision making.
2. What are your expectations before engaging in
participatory planning?
Answer: My expectations before engaging in participatory
planning is that participatory planning is a process by which a
community undertakes to reach a given socio-economic goal by
consciously diagnosing its problems and charting a course of
action to resolve those problems. Experts are needed, but only
as facilitators.
