OVERALL COURSE SYNOP

SYNOPSIS
SIS
The course is predicated on hands-on
computer-based and field-based practical
exercises. It covers principles and essentials of
desktop and mobile GIS: field data collection/
mapping, data plotting, visualisation,
interpretation, and final compilation of maps
ready for printing. Thus, the course takes
participants through the entire GIS value chain,
thus equipping participants with skills to tackle
any GIS project. Upon successful completion,
participants will be issued with certificates.

1. Introduction to GIS
2. Principles of GIS
3. Assembling Base Maps for Fieldwork
4. Essentials of Mobile GIS
5. Field Mapping with Mobile GIS
6. Map compilation/layout in GIS
