2022 DIVISION SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE

1. Pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 7079, also known as the Campus
Journalism Act of 1991, this Office, through the Curriculum and Learning
Management Division (CLMD), announces the conduct of the limited Face to
Face 2022 Division Schools Press Conference (RSPC) with the theme,
"Empowering Resilient Communities through Campus Journalism" via
Flexible Delivery Modality (FDM) on April 19-21, 2022 at Mandaue City
Central School.

2. This undertaking aims to:


2.1 demonstrate understanding on the importance of journalism by expressing
it through different journalistic endeavour and approaches;
2.2 sustain advocacy on social consciousness and environmental awareness;
2.3 provide a venue for an enriching learning experience for students interested
in Journalism as a career and those intend to use skill sets learned
through campus journalism to give them a better edge in their chosen
careers;
2 .4 promote responsible journalism, fair and ethical use of social media; and
2.5 enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly
competitions.

3. Participants to the 2022 DSPC are the following:


3. lPotential Campus Journalists both Elementary and Secondary m English

3.2 Campus Journalists and Coaches who are fully vaccinated as of April 19,
2022.
3 .3 Participating schools must submit an electronic publication to the contest
committee.
3.4 Division Technical Working Group.

4. The conference activities shall include the following:

4.4 Editorial Cartooning
4.5 Science Discovery Writing
4.6 Feature Writing
4.7 Sports Writing
4.8 Copyreading and Headline Writing and
4.9 Infomercial/ Public Service Announcement (PSA)

5. This Office adheres to DO 66, s. 2017 on Implementing Guidelines on the


Conduct of Off-Campus Activities. Participants and Coaches are reminded to
observe the safety and security protocols of all contestants before, during and
after the contest. Permit from parents shall be secured on the specified time
and days for practice and the actual day of the competition.

6. Registration of all participants and other expenses relative to the conduct of the
DSPC shall be charged to the division local funds . Transportation, meals and
other expenses of contestants and coaches can be charged to the school
MOOE/existing Campus Journalism Fund/and other local funds of the school
subject to COA rules and regulations.

7. For contest guidelines please refer to the attached enclosures of the Regional
Memorandum.

8 . This Memorandum shall serve as Travel Oder of the participants.

9 . Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Memorandum to all


concerned is desired.
