Autobiography
After receiving a post-graduate diploma of Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah (KPLI), my
career as an educator has started on August 2008. My first posting was at Sekolah
Kebangsaan Telanok (JHEOA), Cameron Highlands, where I was assigned as a remedial
teacher. This school located in deep rural area of Pahang and consist of 100%
indigenous pupils. As a new and inexperienced teacher at that time, the unfamiliar
characteristics of pupils, schools, environments and community there gave huge
challenges to me. However, along with the time passing, I learnt that the best way to
cater this is by blending with them. By removing the gaps between me and my pupils, I
can explore their problems, cultures and other information that facilitate me in crafting
the strategies to improve their performance. Now, after 12 years, I’m no longer serve
there, and started my new career in School of Computing, Universiti Utara Malaysia
(UUM). Although the ground has changed, I still believe that the best approach to
tackle students’ interest is by blending with them.

Innovations and Creativity in Teaching
The new norm of education
For STID3014 (E) - A192, the MS Team platform is used together with UUM Online
Learning. This combination makes ordinary teaching and learning activities such as
lectures, assignments and quizzes more engaging.

Program Asasi Pengurusan UUM


One of the strategies that I used when teaching foundation students is by using
student-centered approach, which the students will actively involve in discussions,
presentations and debates. This is done to develop their motivation, self-esteem and
to introduce the learning style in university.

Teaching Philosophy
“I see teaching as involving a reciprocal relationship between an educator and
students. As an educator, I believe that I have duties to my students and that they also
have duties to me and to their other teachers. Students gain knowledge and make the
knowledge works for them.”
