Abstract

This research is based on the study of the effects of online games to the academic’s

performance of students. This is quantitative research. The research is in the form of numbers

and digits. 100 teen students in the age of 11-21 years old, who play games were chosen as a

respondent for this research. The questionnaire was based on how playing games affect the

academic performance of students. The study found out that majority of the respondents

played online games. The findings of this research show how online games has a factor that

affects the student’s academic performance. Based on the findings of the study, the

researchers suggested that the respondents should find some other hobby to divert their

attention to something meaningful, and that they should also seek help from their parents or

professionals if they think they’re getting addicted to games.
