PRESENTATION SKILLS

Presentation skills can be can be defined as a set of abilities that enable an individual to: interact
with the audience; transmit the messages with clarity; engage the audience in the presentation; and
interpret and understand the mindsets of the listeners. These skills refine the way you put forward
your messages and enhance your persuasive powers (Skillsyouneed.com, 2021). Presentation skills is
an essential skill for progression within the business sector especially as a CEO, as you will be
required to convey information in team meetings, investors, partners and the board of directors.
Therefore, the ability to craft a compelling presentation and deliver it with conviction is perhaps the
most important skill for a successful leader (Indeed, 2021).

Unfortunately, I have not had many experiences with presentations and have found that I tend to
hesitate and become anxious when having to present to my class mates. I intend to work on this skill
through utilising various different strategies such as presenting in front of my children during the
weekend and obtaining feedback from them. In addition to this, I will record myself to track my
progress on a weekly basis. I also intend to watch YouTube videos to learn some tips on how to
overcome my anxiety of presentations. I believe that this is a short term goal and I have given myself
10 months.
