1. Introduction:
The purpose of this written research writing is to develop core knowledge about the different
research items. Three research items are different from each other. So these three different
modules are discussed in this academic research and writing assignment to understand the
different interesting items. Three research items such as Craft Research: Using sources, a news
article, the title is “Media literature review guide: How to conduct a literature review of news
sources” and a journal article, the title is “A strategic research methodology” have been
considered in this module appropriately. The rationales of chosen research items have been
described by explaining their importances and values to research study. In addition, this
assignment has also given details of usefulness to research study effectively.

2.0 PART-1
2.1 Interesting about the research Item

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

This research item is interesting for describing the methods of using different sources for
secondary research. The author has also stated that “authentic sources are must for the reliable
research”. For ensuring research validity, effectively sourcing should be done for every type of
research study(Booth et al., 2003).

News Article:
This news article is about the literature review development. From this article it has been found
that good literature review is the prerequisite to research accuracy. Literature review states the
key areas of research and links to other research studies to support the own learning and findings
of the chosen research study (www.lib.sfu.ca).

Journal Article:
This journal article has stated that before conducting the research, it is must to study the research
methodology to select to use in the chosen research study. In this article it has been stated that a
good method means a valid research. It has also been described the process of choosing the best
data collection methods and data analysis methods for the research appropriately(Noor, 2008).

2.2 Why interesting

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

This research item is interesting to research for identifying the gaps in the chosen research by
using sources differently and explore what is needed to be improved perfectly by the chosen
research project. The use to sources is also rationale to the research for taking initial ideas about
the chosen theme. By sourcing of different secondary sources, the researchers can choose the
best topic for the upcoming research effectively(Booth et al., 2003).

News Article:
The literature review process of research is rational to research study for summarizing the stated
findings appropriately. This is also rational for linking with other secondary sources for creating
the values of own research through the positive criticism of earlier study relevancy. However,

this item is interesting to me for selecting the research questions by reviewing the secondary data

Journal Article:
This article is interesting in this case as this has detailed descriptions how you choose the best
methods and their applications. The main rationality of this article is that it has stated with details
about the process of sampling methods those are required to test the probability and non-
probability of research data effectively(Noor, 2008).

2.3 How useful for studies

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

This research paper helps to understand the different reasons for the economic breakdown in the
whole country. Use of sources helps to improve the quality of research and academic writing. So
the strategy is important for research writing. This item is also useful to research study by
providing basic ideas of research findings and to understand what are needed to be improved by
another research study(Booth et al., 2003).

News Article:
Due to which there was an increase in inflation rate and due to which most of the countries lost
their currency values. From the news article, we have found that many countries did not use the
proper business strategy due to which the crisis spread in many counties. This is the sample of
literature review that provides the insight ideas of findings to research that helps to understand
about summary to new researchers in the chosen field of study (www.lib.sfu.ca).

Journal Article:
This journal article has stated some effective use of research methods for all research studies that
will help the researchers to choose the best methods of collecting data and analysing data
collected appropriately. This is also useful to researchers by finding the ways of testing research
reliability and research validity effectively(Noor, 2008).

2.4 Three key points of information or argument considered important to in 3 research

items

2.4.1 First key point

By reading the above stated articles, journals and book chapter, he has identified a key point that
research needs the authentic sources to ensure the research accuracy. They argued that if there
are some effective and authentic sources of data then it will lead the research on track and helps
to develop the basis of primary research data like questionnaire development. However, they also
argued that if you review good research you will get relevant ideas of your chosen research study
appropriately(Booth et al., 2003).

2.4.2 Second key point

By the study above three research items, another second key point has also been found that it is
needed to keep in mind that stakeholders are important to find the research results. That means
before conducting the research study, there is needed to choose who the users of research

findings are and findings should be relevant according to their preferences and field of study
appropriately(Noor, 2008). They argued that to understand the stakeholders’ needs the available
sources of data and literature review are needed to be conducted effectively.

2.4.3 Third key point

Another third key point of those research items is that research should be relevant. They stated
that in writing research findings, it is needed to ensure write, recheck and modify where needed
for meeting the relevancy criteria(Booth et al., 2003). That means researchers should use sources
which are relevant to the chosen study. They have also argued that the literature review on
secondary sources should also be relevant to chosen research study highly. The methods of
research are also needed to be chosen relevant to primary if it is raw data basis study(Noor,
2008).

3.0 Part 2
Introduction:
This is the reflective statement of gained knowledge to reflect the learning of the module. This
part of the assignment has described the importances of learnt things from this module
effectively. In addition, this has also analyzed and reviewed the usefulness to research study and
future areas of improvements. A reflective statement has been prepared on the module by giving
descriptions about the learning outcomes, their importances and their usefulness in research
study (Osmond and Darlington, 2005)..

3.1 What is learnt from the module?

One thing is that I have learnt about research and I think all these skills are very important for
my learning because I now know how to search, how to ensure I quote other sources without
directly using their words and how to make references and acknowledge the sources. Moreover, I
have learnt about how to use sources in academic research by alternative thinking and argument
making on understanding appropriately.

3.2 Why that learning might be important?

Searching way for literatures helps to improve the understanding of the techniques and tools that
are used for the business research projects. So for the personal development, the gained
knowledge is necessary for the implementation because each academic research has an
appropriate pattern of using sources in different fields of researches. Personal development can
be improved by the help of different techniques of using sourcing and journal articles (Embree,
2011). So to improve the academic and research writing alternative arguments are important for
making personal development better and understandable.

3.3 How useful to you and your areas of interest?

It can be stated that the research writing study is highly useful to me as this has provided the
basic themes, ideas and concepts of research study In future, my research areas of interest are
academic research in business fields through authentic sources of data. The making of arguments
alternatively based on using sources will be more effective in my future research career as I have
already known about to use sources in research projects appropriately.

Conclusion:
This report is about what I read and how it has been in this period for me as student at GBS. It
has been good, and I learnt a lot. In this module, I learn about writing skills and mainly literature
review. Literature review as I said is about the articles that I read and that I write about. And
also, what I learnt from those articles. I have said that they say about good literature review it
should have some things like sources, know audience and also very clear what is said.
