Introduction:
This part of the report has evaluated three research items for understanding their sources,
importances and usefulness in the academic studies and research works. The first research item is
about Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using Sources. The second research item is a journal
article and the third research item is a news article. Craft Research is about the sourcing of data,
journal article is about the process of literature reviews for research work and news article is
about the workplace discrimination at business organizations. All of these research items give
fruitful learning and knowledge about the research tasks and works highly.

2.0 PART-1
2.1 Interesting about the research Item

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

The first interesting topic of this book chapter is about methods of sourcing of data for research
works. The second interesting topic of the chapter is the importances of sources to make the
research works more accurate and reliable to learners. The third interesting topic of the chapter is
about reading for making appropriate arguments appropriately on the chosen area of
research(Booth et al., 2003).

Journal Article
This journal article is chosen to understand the methods of literature review for a research work
in businesses. The article is about the how effective different literatures are sourced and making
summary of found results of the conducted research on the light of collected literatures.
Moreover, this has also about the effectiveness of literatures to understand primary themes of the
project which would be started(Okoli and Schabram, 2010).

News Article:
A news article has been published in world economic forum about the workplace discriminations
at business organizations. The article has discussed about different types of discriminations at
business organizations. The main interesting issue of the article is about the effects of
discriminations on employees, staffs and workers (www.weforum.org).

2.2 Why interesting

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

Sourcing methods of this book chapter is interesting because of discussing the process of
sourcing for business research works. In addition, to select the best sources of data, the book
chapter is particularly interesting to the learners. Moreover, the sourcing is interesting for
making different arguments of topic by collecting relevant data of the chosen research
article(Booth et al., 2003).

Journal Article
Literature methods are importantly recognized by the researchers for evaluating the research
findings on the light of other research data and information collected. In addition, to make

summary of any research findings, literature review is needed to be done from other sources
appropriately(Okoli and Schabram, 2010).

News Article:
Workplace discriminations are important to know the effects on business organizations. The
article is interesting for finding the influences of workplace discriminations on different levels of
management of the companies. Moreover, this has found dissatisfied workers because of
discriminations at workplaces as the main influence on business success (www.weforum.org).

2.3 How useful for studies/development

Chapter 6 from Craft Research: Using sources

Using different sources is useful to the study in researches and academic research writing. This is
useful to find the main problem of the chosen topic by appropriately reading of sources. In
addition, this adds values to the development of research skills through making alternative logic
based on sourced data(Booth et al., 2003).

Journal Article
Understanding literature review methods is useful to research skill development as the study is
relevant to academic research writing. In addition, this helps to make summarize the findings of
research results appropriately by making alternative logic. Moreover, the literature sources are
done for understanding basic theme of the new research topic appropriately(Okoli and Schabram,
2010).

News Article:
The knowledge gathered from the news article is useful to the academic research writing relevant
to businesses. There is active of workplace discriminations at businesses that help to conduct any
research on the theme of this. In addition, understanding of the effects of discrimination is also
useful to make suggestions how to overcome for ensuring business growth effectively
(www.weforum.org).

2.4 Three key points of information or argument considered important to in 3 research

items

2.4.1 First Key Point

The relevancy of data is the first key point identified from these research items. For sourcing
from different journals is needed to ensure relevant data to chosen topic. In addition, for making
of literatures there is needed to review the relevant data from different sources and make
accuracy of reviewed data collected(Booth et al., 2003). Moreover, for news article, data should
be collected from fields which are relevant to article topic appropriately. For questionnaire
preparation of any research work, there is needed to set relevant questions for chosen
respondents to be surveyed effectively to gather relevant data and information.

2.4.2 Second Key Point

Making an alternative argument by conducting new research is another key point identified from
these research items. It is told by using sources of book chapter that sourcing is done for creating

alternative arguments and several logics behind of the collected data. For literature review
section completion of the research work, there is also needed to make alternative thinking for
exploring the research gaps those would be met by the new research task appropriately(Okoli and
Schabram, 2010). However, alternative argument is also needed to news article for making the
reasons of new article writing in newspapers appropriately.

2.4.3 Third Key Point

Appropriate method of research is the third key point identified from those research items. It is
meant by the process of setting appropriately the methods of collecting data through effective
sourcing from different journals. That means there is needed to be chosen the sources which are
reviewed to collect secondary data for the taken research project(Rowley and Slack, 2004). In
addition, for interpreting the collected data in newspapers is needed to be set by the scholars
appropriately(Bobbitt-Zeher, 2011). Moreover, all the research works are set by firstly the
methods of sourcing and methods of presenting data collected in appropriate manner.

3.0 Part 2
Introduction:
This is the second part of the report that has outlined mainly reflections of the report to
understand the learning, their importances and usefulness in future research career. The
reflection has been done based on the learnt aspects by undertaking this course of action
appropriately(Embree, 2011).

3.1 What is learnt from the module?

From the academic research writing module I have learnt the ways of sourcing of data from
different online and traditional sources. I have also learnt about the ways of reviewing the
literatures in research works. However, I have also well understood about different
discriminations at workplaces. In addition, the module has given a scope to learn how to set
methods of research and how to interpret effective collected data. Moreover, different research
skills such as communication skill, data collection skill and data analysis skills have also been
generated by this module of study largely.

3.2 Why that learning might be important?

The learning about planning my time and ensuring that I am well organised my work so that I
can be able to submit my work in time. Planning and self-organisation are important skills that
someone can learn and which can make the student to be effective in school. What is important is
to ensure that one is able to create a home time table and follow it. Sourcing methods for
research might be important to me as I have an aim of being full time researchers in future where
I will use the skills effectively.

3.3 How useful to you and your areas of interest?

In addition, the methods of using sources will be useful to my future research career globally.
Moreover, the methods of literature review article will help me to ensure good literature review
in future research areas(Kolb and Kolb, 2005). Research methodology will be useful to choose
and use the best effective methods in my academic research effectively. This module has given
me solid learning about business research work that would be useful for my future research
career largely.

Conclusion:
In conclusion, this module has helped me to develop my research skills in terms of data
collection and data analysis for any type of research work appropriately. Moreover, the work is
also relevant to know how to make suggestions for business companies through producing
meaningful results by undertaking of research project in effective way.
