HSE Engineer

Your responsibilities:

 Identify initiatives and develop strategies required to increase asset governance maturity,
ensuring that a lifecycle approach is taken that is appropriate to the types of hazards in the
organisation.
 Conduct, coordinate and support technical and risk management and the preparation of
operating permit and operating change assessments.
 Support the consistent application of the Operational Asset Engineering Risk and
Opportunity Management (AERO) process across the global fleet. The role ensures
appropriate remediation for multi-million euro individual risks that have a significant
cumulative impact on the business.
 Further develop the existing methodology/processes and tools for Asset & Plant Safety
(APS) management, taking into account the scope and needs of the business.
 Work with relevant stakeholders such as engineering, development, construction and
operations to ensure that risks associated with asset and plant safety are effectively
managed (e.g. use of BowTie methodology; APS related incidents).
 Ensure that asset and plant safety standards and lessons learned are incorporated into
RWE OPEA technical specifications and support technical due diligence processes.
 You will take on the role of subject matter expert for safety critical information related to
plant and facility safety.

Safety Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

 Drive continuous improvement and best practice in safety performance through ongoing engagement
with site leaders,
 Field verifications of safety systems with operational leaders while coaching leaders on quality and
demonstrating expected standards
 Participate in and facilitate HSE investigations and provide process guidance, coaching and quality
review.
 Through review of site and industry HSE events, encourage a strong culture of learning and embedment
of safety improvements.
 Partnering with the operation in the delivery of Safety improvement initiatives, aligned to the Integrated
Operations Plan.
 Participate in risk assessments and provide quality reviews.
 Support / coach the development of effective work management tools to achieve positive safety
outcomes; and
 Support accurate and transparent HSE data reporting and elements of the HSE governance program.
HSE Specialist

Job Description
 Ensure development, implementation and support of Country HSE
Management System that based on and satisfy to Syngenta HSE
Management System and applicable legislation of Countries in the scope
 Be part of Syngenta Russia-KAZBEC Business Unit HSE functional team –
represent business operations in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and
CaucasiansFull scope of Health, Safety and Environmental issues, including
Civil Defense, Fire Protection, Industrial Safety, waste disposal/removal,
personal protection equipment provision, medical checks
 Labor, hygiene, quality, office security and other topics where it impinges HSE
 All Syngenta people and permanent contractors, visitors, State officials
 Routine relations with Syngenta Facility Management organization in
Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Caucasians in topics related to HSE
 Routine relations with State officials and External Governance Bodies in
Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Caucasians in topics related to HSE
 Relations with any 3rd party, including State officials, etc., that linked with
Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) requires preliminary sanctioning from Country
Manager and other rele-vant Managers
 Implement and support Syngenta HSE Management System – ensure
development, coordina-tion and approval, implementation of appropriate
documentation, legal orders, instructions and other support documentation
 Tracking HSE performance monthly, analyze trends, communicate to relevant
audiences, pro-pose proactive and reactive measures to achieve ‘best in
class’ HSE performance
 Supporting Leadership Team / Leaders in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and
Caucasians in meeting its corporate and social responsibilities in HSE
 Consult leaders, managers, teams, individuals in the region in HSE and other
related topics
 Driving full aspects of region’s Freedom-To-Operate (FTO) in HSE (including
Emergency Pre-paredness and Civil Defense, fire protection, dealing with
wastes) for Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Caucasians – licenses, permits,
approvals, etc.; request and receive appropriate support from Country
Manager, Leadership Team / Leaders and managers
 Monitoring changes in HSE legislation and norms, in Syngenta HSE corporate
requirements and inform affected audiences, initiating required changes in
local HSE Management System, documentations, procedures, controls
 Deliver in Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Caucasians HSE induction and
regular trainings and register it as per requirements of legislation and
Syngenta
 Establishing and maintaining of regional HSE training plan and matrix based
on State/re-gional/local and Syngenta internal requirements; ensuring all
trainings delivered and validated in time
 Setting up and continuously supporting Emergency Management Syngenta
(EMS) organization in fully aligned to Syngenta Group requirements
 Ensuring all required HSE reporting based on requirements of Syngenta
Group and State/re-gional/local requirements
 Ownership and driving regional HSE promotion program – communication,
visualization and propaganda
 Playing the role of regional HSE risk champion, driving HSE risk assessment
program in Ka-zakhstan, Central Asia and Caucasians
 Facilitating running of internal HSE inspections in departments/teams
 Participating in Syngenta HSE audits (based on corporate requirements) and
leading follow-up program until its completion
 Participating in State officials’ audits/inspections in Kazakhstan, Central Asia
and Caucasians and leading follow-up program until its completion

HSE Engineer

EHS Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
 Analyze Issues - Gathers relevant information systematically; considers a
broad range of issues or factors; grasps complexities and perceives
relationships among problems or issues; seeks input from others; uses
accurate logic in analyses.
 Control of Hazardous Substances - Control of Hazardous Substances requires
knowledge of HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency
Response) basics, Global Harmonization, SDS (Safety Data Sheets), chemical
labeling requirements, spill reporting, control methods, spill prevention, and
chemical exposure.
 Incident Investigation - The method of reporting the occurrence of an
occupational injury/illness, near hit, or property damage. Incident
investigations determine how and why these failures occur. Employees
should be able to perform a thorough, effective incident investigation
including root cause analysis, 5-why analysis and development of effective
corrective actions.
 Health and Safety Management Systems - An Occupational Health and Safety
(OHS) management system provides a framework for managing OHS
responsibilities so they become more efficient and more integrated into
overall business operations. OHS management systems are based on
standards that specify a process of achieving continuously improved OHS
performance and compliance with legislation.
 Health & Safety Professional Knowledge (Including Regulatory Compliance) -
Health & Safety Professional Knowledge relates to having comprehensive
knowledge of occupational safety and health compliance. Regulatory
compliance deals with the regulatory requirements imposed on industry by
local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations. Detailed
understanding of how the provisions of the regulations, as applicable may be
implemented in the workplace, rights and responsibilities under the various
acts/ regulations/ rules, the appeals process, record keeping (OSHA), and
Voluntary Protection Programs (OSHA). Understanding of general industry
standards and the requirements of the more frequently referenced standards.
 Assist with Environmental Auditing - Environmental auditing is the process of
evaluating conformance/compliance with established regulatory, ISO 14001,
and internal requirements. The effectiveness of an internal audit program is
almost entirely dependent upon the skills, training, and experience of the Audit
Team Leader and Audit Team members. Auditors should be functionally
aware of all areas of environmental management and possess an expert level
understanding of the criteria to which they are auditing. Where applicable, the
audit program should be structured in a manner that will facilitate the
integration of safety management system audits.
