Math Capture
Look around your house or barangay for five (5) mathematical applications that are
employed in everyday life. Take a photo of it and explain it in 2-3 sentences only.

1. Measuring tape: A measuring tape is used to measure the length of an object. It


employs the mathematical concepts of measurement and units of length (e.g.
inches or centimeters).

2. Clock: A clock uses the mathematical concept of time, specifically the


measurement of hours, minutes, and seconds.
3. Scale: A scale is used to measure the weight of an object. It employs the
mathematical concepts of measurement and units of weight (e.g. ounces or
grams).

4. Calculator: A calculator is used to perform mathematical operations such as


addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It employs the mathematical
concepts of arithmetic and algebra.

5. Cooking: Cooking employs mathematical concepts such as measurement,


proportion, and temperature to ensure the food is cooked correctly.
