ART APPRECIATION ONLINE ACTIVITY 3

From your above description of an artist and an artisan, write about an in-person or an
online conversation or an interview with a LOCAL ARTIST or ARTISAN of your choice.
Your conversation or interview must answer the following questions:

1. How long have you been an artist or an artisan?

-I basically grew up surrounded by art since both of my parents' hobbies are doing art both
performing and visual art. I could say that I've been an artist all my life and that would be more
than 15 years.

2. What circumstances led you to become one?

-Being surrounded by people having the same interest and field- which is art, in your daily life
probably made me one. Their influence took a huge part in my choice of career as an artist.

3. What medium are you most comfortable with? What kind of technique do you employ
with this medium?
-I am most comfortable with acrylics but am recently into gouache these past few months. I do
realism, semi-realism, cartooning, and anime so I usually do the layering technique and use the
freehand method for the sketch.

4. What is your masterpiece? What is it about? [note: only if talking to an artist] What
makes this special/unique?

-I mostly do religious paintings and I made one watercolor portrait which is my most favorite
piece I've done so far. It is a portrait of Jesus Christ portrayed after being crowned with thorns.
The colors spoke more about the emotions I was trying to convey and the expression on his face
gave it away. Among all my pieces, this one was something I could call my masterpiece.
