Planning
Monthly Program

Get the copy of Monthly Program

The copy of Monthly Program shall be given to the Site Engineers by the Planning Engineer. Due to this even
Site Engineers will get the idea of the activities scheduled in the monthly program.

Preparation of scheme of work

This would be done at the beginning of the project or in the beginning of any new activity. Site Engineer
shall prepare scheme of work or help Planning Engineer to prepare scheme of work if he is asked to do so
by Project Manager.

Get Scheme of work after approval from client.

Scheme of work is to be submitted to client only if it is asked by client or else it will be the internal
document of the company / project.
If it is submitted to the client approval for the same shall be taken from client before starting the activities at
site or else work shall be started with the approval of Project Manager.

Daily Program
Prepare Daily Program
Weekly Programs shall be given to the site engineer after it is finalized with client in weekly meeting. Based
on this weekly program site engineers will prepare their daily program.

Resource Planning
Site Engineer knows what all tasks he has to complete in the following week. Every day before leaving site he
will fill in DPR his plan for tomorrow. He will also know the resources required for completing the planned
activities and ensure in advance that all the resources are in place. If he or the concerned subcontractor
under him is going to require any material from store for completing any activity the next day, site engineer
has to ensure that the requisition slip is filled on t he previous day and submitted in stores so that he gets
the material readily available the next day.

Recording Progress, filling in internal DPR

Every day while closing, Site engineer shall fill in the DPR form given to him and submit it in site office to
Planning Engineer.

Material Issue
Enroute requisition slip in stores through proper channel
Site Engineer has to verify that the requisition slip filled in for the required material either by him or by
subcontractor follows the prescribed channel of signatures at site and then is given in stores.

Execution
Layout & Drawings
Receive VFC drawings
Drawings shall be obtained from either QS or QC by t he site Engineer. Site Engineer shall study the drawings
before execution. Incase he has any doubts he will discuss them with the Senior Engineer and then with QS.
If any clarification is required it would be obtained by proper correspondence through QS. Even if it is
cleared directly at site by the client’s representative it could be regularized by doing proper correspondence.

Resource Management

Resources required by the Site Engineer for the execution of the next day’s activity shall be filled in the
requisition slip and sent to stores through proper channel.

Raise RMC Indents

RMC indents shall be raised by site engineers as and when the concreting is to be done.
Indents for RMC shall be raised after the reinforcement is approved by the client / client's representative in
writing.
Tentative RMC program for a week shall be given by the site Engineer through QA - QC incharge to the client
and / or RMC provider.
A copy of it shall be given to the planning Engineer and PM for information.
If the Plant is in house indent shall be passed on to the QA - QC incharge and through him to the plant
incharge for getting the plant ready and delivering the concrete at site.
If the RMC is to be arranged by the company but it is out sourced, then RMC indent shall be forwarded
through QA - QC incharge with a copy or information to PM.
This is required so that QA QC incharge is aware of the RMC intake and shall make proper arrangements for
testing on arrival.
If RMC is to be supplied by the client, RMC indent shall be raised by site engineer forwarded to client
through QA-QC incharge with notification to the PM.
The Requisition should reach to the RMC provider at least 24 hrs in advance or as mentioned in the Contract.

Execution

Get the finalized schedule, Monthly / Weekly Programs

Finalized schedule shall be with Project manager and Planning Engineer, which will be broken down in to
monthly programs and then weekly programs and client’s approval is sought.
Weekly programs are then given to the site engineers fro their reference.

Verification of quantities calculated by QS

Along with the drawings theoretical quantities calculated by QS shall also be given to the Site Engineers. Site
Engineers shall verify these quantities as and when they get time. This shall be verification of the quantities
calculated by QS and also site Engineer shall have an idea how much work is there quantity wise.

Review of progress with Project Manager

Every week there will be review meeting of site Engineers along with the Project Managers where in review of
progress shall be done. Also hindrances, requirements of site engineers shall be discussed along with the
project Manager and any decisions taken in client meeting which is supposed to reach Site engineers shall be
officially informed to them.

Arrange for resources

After the site engineer is ready with his program for next day, he can get the requisition slip filled in and
submit the same in to stores to get the things required from stores.
He has to ensure that requisition slip follows the proper channel of signatures and the reaches stores.
Also RMC indents shall be raised by site engineer and shall be sent to batching plant (either own or client)
through quality person.

Raise RFI (Request for inspection)

In case of Reinforced cement concrete and / or the works which requires approval of the client / client's
representative for further progress of work, RFI (Request for inspection) shall be raised to inform client
about inspection and approval of work done.

Maintain / update PNM data

Record of Equipment or machine being used at a particular location on site shall be maintained by the site
engineer in the log book and signed confirming the usage.

Fill in the Internal DPR

End of the day, summary of day's work will be entered into the DPR and hand it over to the Project's Planning
Engineer for reporting purpose.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

Get the copy of working methodology from QA- QC incharge and ensure that the work is carried accordingly
Copy of working methodology that is submitted to client shall be given to the site engineer so that he will
get the work done accordingly. Similarly if any working methodology is taken from the sub contractor the
copy of the same shall also be given to the site engineer to verify that sub contractor is working accordingly.

Hindrance
Recording Hindrance
Any hindrance that is obstructing to the progress of work shall be recorded in the daily progress report and
solution if any shall also be suggested.

Extra Items
Extra item if any identified by site engineers shall be notified to QS.

Joint measurement
Joint Measurement
Incase any joint measurement has to be taken at site for including variations in client bill it will be taken in
the presence of site engineer and client’s representative and both of them have to sign the document along
with date and initials.
Site Engineer has to coordinate for the same.

Client Billing

Note Variations / instructions given by client at site
Any instruction given by client on site shall be noted properly in site instruction book and signatures of
client’s representative shall be taken on it with his initials and date.
This site instruction book shall be sent to QS on a particular date for including the variations in client bill.

Joint Measurement
Incase any joint measurement has to be taken at site for including variations in client bill it will be taken in
the presence of site engineer and client’s representative and both of them have to sign the document along
with date and initials. Site Engineer has to coordinate for the same.
