Background of the Study

The study was conducted in Cavite State University - Indang

under the College of Arts and Sciences. That seeks to signify
the student with disabilities experiences on discrimination,
how these experiences affect their well - being, and their
coping techniques inside and outside the campus.
Furthermore, to suggest policy for developing infrastructures
for students with physical disability in the College of Arts and
Sciences and other public infracsturture within the campus.
RATIONALE

The importance of this study is to provide a wide and deep

understanding of how PWD students cope with their everyday
struggles on discrimination and stereotyping. Therefore, the reason
why the researchers conduct this study is to promote equality and
quality opportunities for PWDs especially students with disability in
Cavite State University (CvSU) Main Campus under the College of
Arts and Sciences (CAS) and to lessen the discriminatory acts among
the members of the community in need.

Conclusion
Based on the results of the study, students with disability
experienced discrimination inside the campus specifically in
College of Arts and Sciences. On the other hand, other PWD
students experienced discrimination outside the university as
well. Which results into negative outcomes such as; being not
confident to themselves, anxiousness, and thinking having a
disability is a hindrance, and a curse. The researchers concluded
that emotional awareness and building social bonds as one of the
distractions from discrimination is one of the powerful coping
techniques of the students with disability.
Recommendations
Faculty members, professors, and officers from various
organizations inside the campus can create programs,
seminars, or webinars for students with disabilities for
strengthening their well - being, tips on how to overcome
stress and anxiety, and especially how to take care of one's
biopsychosocial well -being.
Recommendations
On top of it, based on the results the researchers strongly
suggest policy making for infrastructure development for PWD
students inside the college since College of Arts and Sciences is
a three- story building. Emphasizing the needs for
infrastructure development of CAS and other parts of the
campus such as ramps (for students who has physical
disability), universality of toilets, and PWD lane prioritization.
Recommendations
It is highly advised for future researchers to perform a precise
demographic data collection to students with disability inside the
campus and not in the college only (quantitative study). Exploring
detailed and precise interviews for future participants and
providing relevant information and data that corresponds to the
needs of the PWD students.
