“Legalizing of Marijuana in the Philippines”

Good day everyone, I am John Kennedy Salamat the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.

( refute the dpm claim)

Even though the main intention of it is for medical use, we can’t change the fact that the users
and sellers of it will have more access to it if it passes. Giving the users and sellers the
opportunity to have the high possibility to continue what they do is really bad for our country.
The numbers of crimes that can happen is really high and those are caused by using drugs
including marijuana.

As per the given legal basis of our team, there are laws that were made and it is the reason that
marijuana and other kind of drugs can not be legalized here in our country. The Republict Act of
The Philippines created those law to prevent us from such evil things that might and can
happen. Marijuana being illegal is not just for the betterment of our country, it is for the safety of
the users. The majority of the users allaby or reason is because of family lost or mental illness.
Preventing them to do that is a solution to lessen the numbers of victims that are caused by the
said drug.

Selling or using marijuana is a crimiminal act offense under the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The main concern of of opposing this is about the ability to provide easy and quick access to
those who use and sell it.

Legalizing marijuana can not happen. Because if we legalize such drugs it is also tolerating the
users who caused a lot of people who have been abused. Legalizing it is also can be
misunderstood by people and they might thought that it is also decriminalization of marijuana.
There are a lot of reason why it can not be passed. Republic Act 9262 : Anti-Violence Against
Women and Their Children Act of 2004. One of the reason that this law were passed because of
the abuse that happened to women and children, and it keeps happening until now. The
majority of abused people is caused by the users of drugs, which the marijuana is included.

Our educational system hasn’t thought any student for being open minded about using of drugs.
Even we say that we’re educated about it, we all know for the fact that something like this being
legalized, the users of this kind of drug will abuse the opportunity to cause too much case by
everyone’s safety. Our morals define for what we support and what we think is right. Opposing
this motion is us representing the victims and preventing those people who abuses such
powers.
