this video. I am Thanusha Prem Anand, your rather delightful speaker. I cannot
express how grateful and honoured I am to be giving a speech today, which is titled
Academics Alone Cannot Physically and Mentally Prepare A Child to Strive in
Today's Era and Why You Should Add Them To Their Curiculum. I would like to
stress how this topic bears the utmost importance that no one seems to be talking
about.

According to the Oxford Learners Dictionary, a skill is known as a particular ability or
type of ability and the ability to do something well. These skills are extremely crucial
especially if you are planning on striving in today's world. Skills such as time
management and self-awareness are rather going to be the deal-breaker for an
employer to employ a person since they are going to be focusing on what you are
going to do instead of what you have already done. It is also a well-known fact that
employers would be much better off giving out jobs to average B+ students who
possess a variety set of skills than a straight A+ student who lacks in developing
their skills over time.
The most crucial duo in the corporate world that many people especially the young
generation fail at. Why you might ask? It is because the difference of ideas can
cause conflict at where younger people nowadays prefer to avoid at all costs. Hence,
they rather go solo at work. However, leadership and teamwork skills are extremely
important in the business world because they correlate together forming an
unstoppable wave of success coming your way. Leadership can benefit every aspect
of your life, giving you greater confidence, strengthening your communication and
negotiation skills and developing character. On the other hand, those who have
teamwork skills like communication and a positive attitude can help a team be more
productive. The simple reason is that the workload is shared in a group and doesn’t
put pressure on a particular individual. For example, the togetherness in a football
team is known to significantly improve the efficiency of the game and foster lifelong
friendships!
We have all arrived at the fun part, time management skills. I'm sure you all have
heard it in your life and yearn for it the most when you are slacking. Besides during
this quarantine season, many people have had countless struggles lacking this skill.
How do you think successful people get things done even though all they seem to do
is have fun? Well, all the credit goes to excellent time management skills. Time
management skills are going to be the ultimate skill everyone should have and they
definitely should be taught to produce great time managers of the future generation.
Time management skills in the business world will allow an individual to increase
their productivity and efficiency, help them gain a sense of fulfilment by their
performance, and improve self-discipline.

I hope that my speech has helped you to be more aware of the importance of my
proposal. This topic has always been an inspiration to me and I hope that I get to
pass on the same feeling to you. Remember that our younger generation needs our
