Activity: Individual Therapy (Play Therapy:Scrabble) Date : May 11, 2023

Time : 9:30 AM Venue : Activity Area

Facilitator : Marie Ashley Casia

General Objective:

Following an hour of play therapy, the guest will be able to increase

concentration,express emotions, improve her well-being, develop coping strategies,

and improve her self-esteem through the use of play in a secure setting.

Specific Objectives:

After an hour of individual therapy utilizing art the guests will be able to:

1. Engage in a socially acceptable manner with the student nurse


2. Strengthen the trust and rapport with the student nurse
3. Participate actively during the therapy
4. Sustain student nurse-guest relationship
5. Enjoy during the entire duration of the therapy

Materials Needed:

● Scrabble Board
● Two racks
● Bag of tiles
● Chairs
● Table
Guidelines and Precautions:

1. The facilitator will be in charge of setting up the necessary equipments


2. Gather the guest to the activity area.
3. Brief introduction is given regarding the morning’s activity which is play
therapy.
4. The facilitator will explain the objective of the activity.
5. Explain the activity to the guest and what is expected from the guest.
Mechanics:

1. Gather the guest to the activity area.


2. The facilitator will introduce the activity and state the purpose of the activity.
3. The facilitator will state the rules to be followed during the session and will
have the participating guest restate these rules.
4. Encourage participation from the guest in a peaceful and organized manner.
5. The guests will be directed to its assigned area and sit, and the facilitator will
provide the materials of the play.
6. The facilitator will guide throughout the activity and also make her own
output to inspire the guest to participate.

Processing & Sharing:

1. Re-introduce self to the guest


2. The guest will be asked to sit in the activity area. The facilitator will instruct
the guest to sit down while waiting for the facilitator to start.
3. The facilitator will greet the guest and orient to time and place.
4. The facilitator will provide a brief introduction about the activity.
5. The facilitator will explain the activity and what are to be expected from them
6. The facilitator will provide the board games, racks and bag of tiles and ask
her to form words.
7. Remind the guest of the time allotted for them to finish the activity.
8. The facilitator will praise the client for their stand in the play.
9. The facilitator will acknowledge the guest’s active participation.
10. The facilitator will accompany the guest to their room.
