Very good class, you are all good at interpreting

pictures.
b.3 Lesson Proper:
You already guess the photos, so I think you
already have an idea what will be our main topic
for today. Who can tell/guess our main topic for
our discussion? The student will answer.

Okay very good, it is all about active listening. *Students will listening and interact to
Active listening' means, actively listening. That is your discussion. (including recitations
fully concentrating on what is being said rather and insights of the student)
than just passively 'hearing' the message of the
speaker. Active listening involves listening with
all senses.

Okay now that you have an idea about “what is

active listening” let’s now tackle each types. ****

1st Informational Listening

- Informational, or informative, listening is
when an individual is listening to learn or
understand something. This is a more
passive form of listening because the
individual is not passing judgment or
critiquing the conversation. ****
2nd Discriminative Listening
- Instead of relying on words, discriminative
listening uses tone of voice, verbal cues,
and other changes in sound. Discriminative
listening is how babies understand the
intention of a phrase before they can
understand words. ****
3rd Biased Listening
- Is also known as selective listening.
Someone who uses biased listening will
only listen for information that they
specifically want to hear. This listening
process can lead to a distortion of facts.
That's because the person listening isn't
fully in tune with what the speaker wishes
to communicate. ****
4th Sympathetic Listening
- It is driven by emotion. Instead of focusing
on the message spoken through words, the
listener focuses on the feelings and
emotions of the speaker. This is done to
process these feelings and emotions ****
5th Comprehensive Listening
- It is about interpreting the words and ideas
of the speaker. Examples of comprehensive
listening examples include watching the
news, listening to a peer give a
presentation, or taking notes during a
meeting. Because our brains work
differently, sometimes comprehensive
listening can be complicated ****
6th Empathic/Therapeutic Listening
- A structured listening and questioning
technique that allows you to develop and
enhance relationships with a stronger
understanding of what is being conveyed,
both intellectually and emotionally. As
such, it takes active listening techniques to
a new level. ****
7th Critical Listening
- A process for understanding what is said
and evaluating, judging, and forming an
opinion on what you hear. The listener
assesses the strengths and weaknesses of
the content, agrees or disagrees with the
information, and analyzes and synthesizes
material. ****

Did you understand the lesson class? Yes ma’am

Are you going to listen very well now? Yes ma’am

Again active listening means you are actively

listening. That is fully concentrating on what is
being said rather than just passively 'hearing' the
message of the speaker. Active listening involves
listening with all senses. It can also help us to
achieve our desire goal and outcome.
