Assessment Components
• The assessment focuses on assessing the knowledge evidence of the unit of competency.
Knowledge in this context is demonstrated knowledge required to complete the tasks outlined in
elements and performance criteria of this unit
• This assessment requires you to demonstrate your knowledge and skills by undertaking a
multimedia project that has practical application

REPORT / PROJECT (RP)
This is an open book assessment to be completed at your own time. You are required to complete all tasks
correctly to achieve satisfactory result.

You are required to establish a media management system for two (2) media
productions.
You are required to create a simple guide / induction manual on how to manage
and archive media assets for your imaginary graphic design company. The guide
will explain all aspects of media management to new employees. The guide must
use simple to understand sentences and include screen shots.
The guide must cover:
• Media assets management process (File name and folder structure)
• File Formats, Naming convention, Structure of folders.
• Media assets version control process (The process for tracking any
changes on the file)
• Media assets archive process (The process on how to backup and store
completed project including who will have access in the future)

When designing the guide, ensure that you understand how different role has
different requirement / preference to access the media assets. Include the name
of the role, responsibilities and how potentially each role needs to access the
media assets. You need to include what information is usually looked for by each
role. The member must consist at least

Make sure the guide also put into consideration on the sign-off process upon
completion of the project and how to deal with copyrighted media assets.
You are also required to provide sample file and folder structure for 2 types of
projects such as:

• Motion graphics
• 3D Animation
• Graphic design (photos)
You will create your manual in Adobe InDesign. You are required to submit as
native format and PDF format

You are required to develop rule for managing media assets. You need to
consider:
• File format (Please refer to https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-
pro/using/supported-file-formats.html ) and choose 3 format for each
category ( Native video and audio, native camera, still image, subtitle
and video project)
• Structure of folder (project based, date based, department based, etc)
• Naming convention

You are required to set up rule & logic for version controlling to track the media
assets change. The version control can be in the format of changing the naming
convention or using sophisticated file management system that support tracking
feature.
You need to provide sample on how the version control is used for the file above.
Your assessor will use marking guide below to assess your submission. Attempt 01
RP2 Your submission is in the format of complete file sample within the folder Attempt 02
structure. Evidence of implementation of version control can be found easily.

You are required to demonstrate archiving process for at least 2 samples of the
completed project. You will record your process of archiving 1 sample project
with explanations and screen shots. The archive could be for any media project
such as graphics, website, 3D, or video production. Please ensure that you put
into consideration on how you will record and index archived file as well as who
will be able to access to the archive system in the future.

media assets management process. You also need to develop evaluation form to
