Student Instructions
This assessment is to be undertaken in a fully equipped aged care facility or in a simulated environment that reflects workplace conditions.

You are to be observed by your assessor. For this assessment, you will need to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to work legally
and ethically.

You will need to provide evidence of your ability to identify and work within the legal and ethical frameworks that apply to your individual job role
including how you:

1. Completed workplace activities in accordance with legal and ethical requirements in at least 3 different situations

2. Developed appropriate responses to at least 3 different legal or ethical issues relevant to the work role

3. Identified and communicated at least 2 potential work practice improvements designed to enhance workplace responsiveness to legal and
ethical requirements

4. Knew how to find and understand legal and ethical documents relative to the job role

5. Showed understanding of their ethical and legal rights and responsibilities

6. Followed organisation’s policies and procedures

7. Followed procedure in relation to breaches of legal and ethical obligations

8. Understood how your opinion could impact your practice and undertook non-judgmental practices accordingly

9. Discussed issues with relevant key people

10. Used effective problem solving skills

11. Took action against conflicts of interest

12. Identified areas for improvement

If you do not work in the relevant industry, your assessor will observe you performing the assessment tasks in a simulated environment where
you will be conducting 4 roleplays with a maximum of 15 minutes/ roleplay. Your assessor will be providing you with the roleplay scenarios.

If you work in the relevant industry, you may request your assessor to observe you performing the assessment tasks at your workplace.
