PRACTICAL RESEARCH

“EFFECT OF GADGETS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF DISTANCE LEARNING MODALITY”

Research Questions:

1. What are the uses of gadgets in the implementation of distance learning modality?
2. What are the advantage and disadvantage of gadgets in the implementation of distance
learning modality?
3. Is there a significant difference on the effect of gadgets in the implementation of distance
learning modality in both men and women?

Hypothesis:

Scope and Delimitation:

This research of ours will be conducted in sitio Loacan specifically to the grade 12
student of Loacan National High School who is currently studying under the distance
learning modality to know about the affect of gadgets in the implementation of distance
learning modality to them and will be answering some question about the current research
topic.

To be able to collect quality information on the student, we will be targeting to


survey 20 students, 10 male and 10 female.
Background of the study:

In the previous months we suffered from the pandemic called covid-19 where we were force to
stay inside our home for our own safety, where our daily lives are affected because were not
allowed to go outside to work explore. In these previous months we suffered from the pandemic

lives are affected because were not allowed to go outside to work, explore and even go to school.
But the government can't afford to waste time waiting this pandemic to end that's why they loosen
up the restrictions and allow us to go outside to continue working and as well us studying but the
president and the DEP-ED can't afford to risk the lives of the students so they introduced distance
learning as modality where it uses one or more technologies to deliver instructions to the students
who are separated from the instructor which delivered primarily via internet.

The modality has 3 types which are modular distance, online distance learning and
television/radio based learning. Where modular distance learning is when the school provides a
hardcopy of the modules and to be manually delivered into the student's home, these modality is
effected to those students who is near in the school and for those who don't possess any technology
or gadgets with them, the other version of this modality is online distance learning where the
instructor uses technology to send the softcopies of the module, its applicable to students who
doesn't like to go out in their houses and for students whose far away from the school and
instructor, and the last type of this modality is the televised/radio based learning where the
instructions where given through watching television or listening through the radio this type of
modality is applicable to those students who prefer watching or listening to the instructions and as
we can see gadgets has a big role on its implementation

In this distance learning modality, the students were able to study without taking the risk of going
outside their home to receive and send their modules because the operation uses gadgets which it
had different effects in its implementation and in the students, by the use of the gadgets the
implementation is made easier to both the students and instructor because all they have to do is
open their laptops or mobile phones then link in on the internet and receive their instruction, and
because of gadgets students don't need to attend meetings to be implemented

After all its advantages using gadgets also has some dis advantages like addiction to mobile games,
social media and spending too much time watching in their gadgets etc. which it affects the students'
academic performance and their mood to study because when students spends a lot of time with
their gadgets sometimes they get too entertained and forget to study or they were just too addicted
to it, but not all students are the same so there are some differences on the effects like for females
because they are more mature than males some may manage to lay some time with their study
while using phone and for males because they are less mature they seem to hardly manage their
time to study but those are only a few of the differences

And based on these info given about the effect of gadgets in the implementation of distance
learning modality, gadgets can make the implementation a lot easier, convenient and simpler for
both student and instructor at the same time these gadgets is a big heip on the students studies and
even its pack with some negative effects but still gadgets has done a big role on the implementation
of distance learning modality.
