The maps below depict the appearance of Thuan Thanh District in 2000 and 2009.

Overall, it is clear that the Thuan Thanh District experienced striking transformations.
Most noticeably, the industrial complex has been expanded, resulting in significant
shrinkage of woodland areas and the removal of residential areas.
Firstly, in the north part of the map, in 2009, the derelict warehouses have been
replaced with a car park. The old town has been replaced by offices. Secondly, in the
southern part of the map, the Thuan Than district has experienced minimal changes.
Moreover, in the eastern part of the map, the woodland has been considerably reduced
in size. On the western side, the Arts Centre has been replaced by a multi-screen
cinema.
Look at the map, north-west, residential area unchanged. After 2009, the south-west
residential area was replaced by a shopping center. Moreover, south-east, residential
area was destroyed, and an industrial complex was expanded in its place. In the north-
east, the lake has been narrowed down to a pond, and a university has been
constructed. Lastly, in the center of the map, the school has been downsized.
