The Charity Fun Fair event took place on the 03 of November 2022 as proposed. The event took place at
the Unitar HUB, Level G at UNITAR main campus. The event started at 10:00 am. The team had set up
the game booths and signs indicating that an event was taking place earlier that day. By 10:00 am, as the
event started, small crowds started coming in. Music was played throughout the event to attract
participants and additional coupon sales were taking place at the main counter. The team had a member to
host during the event. Aishwaryaalaksmy, the host, started announcing and introducing the event and was
ushering people to take a look and join in. Many people, however, had already come in on their own
because of the coupon pre-sales that took place earlier that week.
Throughout the event, all the booths that were set up were constantly being visited by small groups of
students. The team anticipated a larger crowd to enter during the afternoon, but the anticipation was
turned down when we came to learn that many course mates were having their mid-semester tests that
day.
The dessert booth that was set up had sold out all the goods by 12pm. The brownies and bomboloni were
a big hit amongst the crowd. Among the game booths, the Balloon Pyramid and Balloon Darts booths
were always packed with people who kept returning to try and win the game. Some participants were seen
spending their whole coupon on the Balloon Darts game as the game was challenging. All participants of
the games received sweets as a token of appreciation for participating and winners received prizes. The
participants were seen happy with the prizes and even complimented the team for the prize choices.
During the event, participants adhered to the rules of the game booths and all games were played without
disruption. The PA system manager, Siva played songs throughout the event and even received song
requests and song dedication requests by students.
Towards the end of the event, most of the game booths had finished their prize quota as participants had
played and won through them all. The team closed up all the booths at 4:00pm. A quick clean up session
was done by all group mates before leaving the venue. The team managed to reach the target of raising
RM250.00 to be donated to the charity home of choice: Lovely Disabled Home.
The pictures were taken throughout the 03.11.2022, the day of the CHARITY FUN FAIR EVENT.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS:
▪ Were your expectations for this experience realistic? Why or why not?
: Our expectations were realistic. The realistic expectations that we set were to be
able to collect RM250.00 for the charity home. Our expectations were met during
our pre-coupon sales. The other realistic expectations that we set was to see a larger
crowd on the day of our event. This was however not met due to tests and quizzes
that took place for many students on that day. We expected a large crowd during
the afternoon, but only small groups visited us with gaped intervals.
: Two of our biggest successes in the project was, firstly being able to reach our
target cash amount; RM250.00, to be donated to the Lovely Disabled Home. We
were glad to be able to donate a reasonable sum to be of help to the charity home.
The other success was being able to pull off such an event with limited team
members. This is because other sections of our course had a larger number of
teammates in their groups. Despite the trouble we went through as a small team

▪ What have you done that you didn’t ever think you would be able to do?
: We expected to have the crowd be students that all of us were familiar with.
However, we managed to attract a great many groups of students who we were all
unfamiliar with. Students from different courses joined and participated happily in
our event which resulted in us being in awe as we imagined a great many groups of
friends only attending the event. In addition to that, many of the unfamiliar students
that participated brought their peers along with them and spread the word about
the event to many of their friends. This is what helped us reach our target.
1. Raising awareness that there are still a great many charity homes that are in
need of donations post pandemic. We managed to get many students
interested in which charity we’re donating the money to. In addition to that,
we managed to display that collecting funds can be done in a fun manner.
2. Creating a fun university environment that does not always revolve around
academic pressure. Recently due to the opening of physical classes, many
students have been packed with assignments and on hand projects. Our
event got students to relax and enjoy the events.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Below listed are recommendations that can be looked into for betterments of any upcoming Charity
Fun Fair event.

GENERAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT
1. Open more booths. Due to the lack of number of groupmates, we managed to open only 5 game
booths and 1 food booth. We suggest opening an additional number of exciting game booths and
include as many food/dessert booths as possible. The crowd is attracted to the food booth and
games that are seemingly challenging. In addition to that, encouraging students and providing
them space to open up their own booths in the area would be a great source of profit to both
parties as the students would be able to showcase their skills and the organization gets to collect
money for the charity.
2. Create a lively ambience. The decorations and prizes that we could put up and provide were
limited due to the budgeting. We suggest that having attractive decorations and largely visible
prizes would attract many eyes. Despite our prizes being aesthetically pleasing and attractive,
opting for bigger prizes is bound to gain a crowd's interest. Besides that, due to many students
having tests on the day of our event, we could not play music that was loud. If given a chance,
playing loud and lively music would create a lively event.
3. Setting up QR scanners as a form of payment. We overlooked the online paying method as we
did coupon pre-sales. However, on the day of the event, many people kept insisting on making
online payments. It is best to set up printed QR payment at each booth or at the registration booth.
This could have increased profits, hence why this should be an aspect to look into.
4. Have many platforms to promote the event. Joining the university’s active clubs and societies
and getting them to help promote and spread the word about an event is a move that should be
done as it helps gain participants. In addition to that, having a strategic promoting team is
essential. Due to the lack of manpower and time we did not manage to do the best in promoting.
Promoting weeks ahead of time is highly suggested and using social media to its fullest would be
the best recommendation.
