BOROBUDUR TEMPLE

Borobudur temple located in

Magelang, Central Java which
was built in the 9th century led by
a king named Samaratungga. The
King ordered to build a temple
construction at that time which
was led by an architect named
Gunadarma. The name of this
Borobudur temple means “Vihari
Buddha Uhr” which comes from the Sanskrit language. Borobudur temple is
the largest temple or shrine in the world. The monument at Borobudur temple
consist of 6 square terraces on which there are 3 circular equipment. The
walls are decorated with 2.672 relief panels and originally there are 504
buddha statues. This temple is very well known by many people. Many
foreign tourists have a vacation to this place. This place is also a vacation spot
for families or students.
I have been 3 times to visit Borobudur temple. This place is very
beautiful in my opinion. Because it’s my first time visiting a historical place
like this when I was a child. This temple is so big and the area around this
temple is very clean. No wonder there were a lot of people who visited here at
that time. My journey to get to this Borobudur temple takes about 1 day and 1
night, I have to spend the night on the way. And to go to Borobudur temple ,
we have to walk from the parking lot, we have to walk about 5 to 15 minutes.
But this is a moment that I never forgot at that time, we also have to climb a
lot of stairs to get to the top there. it was so tiring when I just found out that
there are so many stairs to get to the top. But when I got to the top, what a
beautiful view down there. From above, we can see people walking towards
the temple. There were many trees on the side of the road. We can also take
selfies or take photos up there. Anyway, the view is really good. And the air is
very cool, but also sometimes hot. But if in the morning the air is cold. We
also have to be careful when we are at the top, because every place in the
temple is high and there are lots of stairs too.
The reason why you have to visit this Borobudur temple is that first
this Borobudur temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. This
temple is a legacy of the ancient Buddhist kingdom civilization in the
archipelago. Until now, many tourists are still busy visiting Borobudur
temple. In addition, Borobudur temple has high historical and artistic value.
This Borobudur temple complex reflects a very extraordinary work of art.
Built above a height, the construction of this Borobudur temple is said to have
spent a total of 2 million bricks to compile the temple until it stands upright
until now. Borobudur temple has a beautiful view, in my opinion the view at
Borobudur temple is undoubted. Because the scenery is that good. Enjoying
its very beautiful natural scenery, of course taking pictures at Borobudur
temple with a very beautiful background, especially Instagramable. Moreover,
we can also see the sunrise and sunset from the top or the top of the
Borobudur temple. I also took lots of photos at Borobudur temple. Not only
domestic tourists who are there, foreign tourists are also there. At this
Borobudur temple, there are also many national and international events that
are often held at the Borobudur temple. For example, there are the Borobudur
marathon, mariah carry concerts, to the borobudur writer and culture festival
which have successfully attracted tourists. But, what I just know is that at
Borobudur temple there is a kind of Vesak day celebration which is always
held at Borobudur temple every year. It is celebrated in the month of May or
full moon Sidhi. This Vesak Day celebration attracts the attention of
thousands of Buddhists from various countries as well as tourists who
specially come to see sacred and impressive rituals. According to people,
what attracts the attention of tourists the most is the release of thousands of
lanterns into the sky as a symbol of enlightenment for the entire universe as
well as marking the end of the ritual session of Vesak. hearing this, I also
wanted to visit Borobudur temple on Vesak day. I think it's really exciting to
visit on that day. And keep in mind, the location of this Borobudur temple is
very strategic. we can go there by bus, plane, private car, or by train. When I
visited Borobudur temple the first time I went there using a private car it took
about 1 day 1 night, because the distance from my city to the temple was quite
far. And the last time I visited Borobudur temple I went there by bus, and
went there with my school friends. in my opinion, it's more exciting to go
there with friends at school, because it's cool to be there with friends on
vacation. What's more, while on the road we exchange stories and joke
around while on the road.
I really enjoyed the place there. There are prohibitions that cannot be
done there, such as not littering. merchants are not allowed to sell in the
vicinity of the temple. And like sitting in the statue part like there is a
monument that is square like that and consists of many holes, usually people
always take pictures in that place until they sit around it. It is forbidden, we
are prohibited from sitting in that place, and those of us who want to take
pictures with the monument can only stand beside it. but not a few tourists
who do not know, including myself, also that this place was once a holy place
of worship so that the tourists casually climbed into the walls and some even
climbed the holy mandala. As little information as I read, it turns out that this
temple was not used for recreation, but only for Buddhist ritual places of
worship. But over time, this temple has become a destination that is visited by
many tourists. And the Borobudur temple is also included in one of the
wonders of the world, because the building is very large and tall too. It is
estimated that the height is equivalent to a 10-story building. And Borobudur
temple is also named as the largest Buddhist temple in the world. But after
undergoing restoration and also construction improvements, finally this
Borobudur temple was designated as one of the world heritages which is very
well known by many people. By the way, outside the temple, we can buy
souvenirs at home such as wall hangings, clothes, food. Usually, we as
visitors the price to buy souvenirs is always increased in price. However, if
we speak Javanese, we are always given bargaining questions to buy
souvenirs.
