COURSEWORK SPECIFICATION

The coursework for this course is divided into TWO components:

(A) Group Written Assignment (50 marks)


(B) Individual Presentation (50 marks)

(A) Group Written Assignment

Assuming that you are the newly appointed human resource manager for a multinational
company.
You are required to prepare a report that covers the following areas. Your report must
be structured under the following headlines.

1. FIVE significances of manpower planning for effective utilisation of human resources.


2. THREE different classifications of international employees, as well as its pros and cons
respectively.
3. THREE challenges of international staffing and its solutions.
4. The right ways to manage expatriate in order to avoid expatriate failures.
5. Appropriate performance evaluation methods for the expatriates in your organisation.

(B) Individual Presentation

Relevant Topics: Each group member is required to choose a different employee training
method and discuss on its advantages and disadvantages. You are also
required to include which positions are suitable to be trained by using this
training method.

presentation, and turn in your slides to the folder in your respective tutorial
google classroom.]
Please refer to Appendix 4 - the requirements of the individual
presentation.

(A) Written Assignment

Date of submission: Group Assignment – Week 8, 21 August 2023, Monday, 9 AM

You are required to work in groups of 4-5 members (subject to changes). Answer ALL the
above questions.
(a) Your group assignment should be within 2800 to 3000 words.

(b) The word count excludes acknowledgements, table of contents, appendixes and
references.
(c) To be typed in font 12, Times New Roman and 1.5 spacing.
(d) Cover page to include name of all members, index numbers, and course title (as
indicated in Appendix 1).
(e) Page numbering to be placed center bottom of the page.
(f) All references to be indicated using TAR UMT APA Referencing System.
(g) Please complete Appendix 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 and attach to your written assignment.
(h) Appendix 5 is used to acknowledge that no plagiarism act has taken place.
(i) The report shall be submitted in Soft Copy, Microsoft WORD.

(j) Your assignment must be uploaded into the TURNITIN and a F U L L copy of the report
MUST be attached to your work. Maximum percentage allowed is 15%.
(k) Plagiarism involves copying materials from other sources without acknowledging the
original author. The University treats plagiarism as a serious offense. Strict disciplinary
action will be taken against students, including failure of coursework.
(l) Deadline for submission of group assignments is to be strictly adhered to.
(m) A penalty of marks reduction from the total marks granted to the assignment will be
levied for each day of late submission.

For late submission, there will be a reduction of absolute marks from the mark’s score
submitted:
● Late 1 to 3 days after deadline of submission: minus 10 marks;
● Late 4 to 7 days after deadline of submission: minus 20 marks;
● Late more than 7 days after deadline of submission: 0 marks
(n) You have to submit your group written assignment to Classwork under each of your
respective Tutorial Google Classroom.
