Treatment details – (To include products used):
I set up my area and trolley before my client came to her appointment. When Mary arrived I took her
jacket and belonging’s and placed them in the locker.
I asked Mary to put her mask on and sanitise her hands before coming over to the beauty bed
I assisted Mary onto the bed after she removed her shoes, I placed a large towel over Mary, followed by a
blanket. I asked Mary if she wanted her arms in or out and she decided to have them in within the blanket
I placed couch roll on Mary’s chest to protect her clothes, a headband and tissue on her head to protect
her hair. I ensured Mary was comfortable before chatting to her about her treatment
Mary decided to go for a double cleanse including exfoliation and had a few questions for me about her
skin.
I sanitised my hands, put on my mask and asked Mary to remove her mask so I could begin the treatment.
I applied eye makeup remover to 3 damp cotton pads, I placed one on each eye and cleansed the lips with
the third one.
I removed one cotton pad from the eye, supported Mary’s eye area and cleaned her eye using the cotton
pad. I used damp cotton pads to avoid dragging the skin and ensure my client’s comfort.
After using this cotton pad I placed into the bin straight away and cleansed the other eye. I used 2
separate cotton pads to avoid cross contamination.
As Mary was wearing mascara, there was some residue. I used cotton buds with eye makeup remover to
remove the access, being light handed as the eye area is sensitive.
Once I was happy with the eyes and lip area, I moved onto the face using cleanser.
I decided to use my rose water based cleansing milk as Mary informed me her skin was a little sensitive.
I applied a €2 size coin of cleansing milk onto the back of my hand, applied the product onto the neck,
chin, cheeks, nose and forehead.
I used upwards motions on the neck area, and circular motions on the rest of the face, this was to
penetrate the product deep into the skin to ensure it was being cleansed properly.
I removed the residue with 2 damp facial sponges. I made sure the water was warm for the comfort of my
client.
After I removed the cleansing milk I went in with some exfoliator
I used some water to slightly dampen my client’s skin, I applied some exfoliator to my client’s neck, chin,
cheeks, nose and forehead.
I dampened my finger tips and gently, using my finger tips used circular motions to penetrate the exfoliant
Mary mentioned she had some Comedones and dry skin around the nose area, so I focused on this.
After I rubbed into skin for a minute, I removed using my damp facial sponges and warm water
After I was happy with the removal, I moved onto toner. I used rose water on a damp cotton pads and
applied all over the face and neck
I blotted my client’s skin dry using a tissue ensuring she was comfortable having a tissue over her face
before I did so
I began my skin analysis, I placed 2 dry cotton pads onto my client’s eyes as the light can be strong. I had a
look at my client’s skin through the mag lamp. I had a good look and feel of my client’s skin
I noticed my client’s skin felt rough to touch, she had some Comedones on her nose and some superficial
lines on her forehead
I had a chat with Mary and she told me her skin can feel tight after a shower, rough to touch and
sometimes get’s erythema. She also told me she only drinks coffee and would rarely drink water
After my skin analysis and chat with Mary, I decided her skin was dry and dehydrated
I applied a small amount of moisturiser to her skin and gave her some aftercare & homecare advice
I helped Mary off the bed, ensuring she felt okay to stand after lying down for 30 minutes.
I thanked Mary for coming and asked her to come back in a few week’s for another facial
Products used:
Mary was thrilled after her facial! She noticed a difference with the Comedones on her nose and she didn’t realise
that drinking so much coffee would have an impact on her skin. She was delighted with the advice I gave her and
couldn’t wait to return to me in a few weeks.
Aftercare feedback:
Aftercare advice:
Not to wear makeup for 24 hours to give skin a chance to breathe
Mary loves the gym but I asked her to avoid for 24-48 hours to avoid sweating onto her skin
I advised Mary to avoid hot showers for 24 hours to let skin rest and avoid reopening the pores
Homecare Advice:
I recommend a homemade mask – avocado as it has natural oils to help moisturise her dry skin, oats to aid
desquamation and natural yoghurt to create a nice spreadable base
Drink 2.5 litres of water and try to cut down on coffee, this will rehydrate the skin and can help with the
superficial lines on her forehead
Cleanse, tone and moisturise twice a day, using gariner rose water products as her skin was slightly
sensitive and to exfoliate 1-2 times a week to continue helping her Comedones on her nose
