To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Sidney Gerdes, I am writing to be considered as a student teacher candidate in

your school district for the Spring of 2024. I am in my fourth year at South Dakota State
University majoring in Elementary Education. I also have a coaching endorsement
through Ridgewater College. I am excited to begin student teaching as a final step of my
teacher preparation program.

My skills and experience has prepared me to be an exceptional student teacher for your
district. I have strengths in organization, time management, leadership, and I am
passionate about making a difference in a students' life. I will put the students' life and
education first when I become a teacher. My coursework at SDSU has prepared me to
equip students with an attitude of lifelong learning as I guide them to understand concepts
expected for Elementary Education standards. I am also interested in being involved in
extracurricular roles in your district to support students in developing every aspect of
themselves. I have been involved in sports all my life and would like to pass on the
information and the skills I have learned to the next generation of students.
