Materials
- 2,5 mm (US 1 ½) hook
- 5 different yarns calling for 2,5 mm (US 1 ½) hook
- stuffing
- 2 safety eyes 7 mm
COW turns out at a size of 20 cm with the yarn I used (sockyarn). If you are using cotton he will
turns out at a size of 26 cm, in that case use bigger safety eyes.
Yarns
I used the following yarns:
White/naturel for the head, body, arms and legs,

Regia Tweed 4-ply color: 02 (+/- 60 gr)
Black for the spots,
Regia Uni 4-ply color: 2066
Brown for the hooves and horns,
Schoeller en Stahl Fortissima color: 2071
Pink for the snout and ears,
Regia Uni 4-ply color: 1976
Yellow for the label,
A rest of yellow yarn
Abbreviations
st(s) = stitch(es) hdc = half double crochet
ch = chain dc = double crochet
slst = slip stitch sc2tog = sc nex 2 stitches
sc = single crochet ggggggggggggg together (decrease)
2sc inc = sc in indicated stitch 2 gggggggggggggg times (increase)
Head
Make a loop with white/naturel.
Round: 25. [sc in next 9 st, sc2tog] 6x (60 sts)
1. 6 sc in the yarn loop and tighten the loop.
26. sc in each st around
2. 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)
27. [sc in next 8 st, sc2tog] 6x (54 sts)
3. [sc in next st, 2sc inc] 6x (18 sts)
4. [sc in next 2 st, 2sc inc] 6x (24 sts)
Dont break yarn! Fill the head with stuffing
material en continue with the snout. Round 33
10.-12. sc in each st around (3 rounds)
to 36 we finished later.
36. [sc2tog] 6x (6 sts)
Break yarn.
Snout
Make a loop with pink.
Round:
Change color and continue with white/naturel
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the snout onto the head.
Fill the snout with some stuffing material and sew it under round 6 of the head. Make sure the snout covers the
magic loop of the head.
Embroider with brown yarn two nostrils.
Eye spot (make 2 of them)
Make a loop with black.
Round: 6. [sc in next 4 st, 2sc inc] 6x (36 sts)
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the pieces onto the head. Place the spots between
round 14 of the snout and 24 of the head (see photo for reference).
When the eye spots are sewn on the head remove the filling out of the head.
Place safetyeyes 1 row above the snout and three rows from the edge of the eyespot.
After that fill firmly the head again and proceed with the head to make him close (row 33-36).
Body
Make a loop with white/naturel.
Round: 28. [sc in next 10 st, sc2tog] 6x (66 sts)
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the head onto the body. Fill with some stuffing
material.
Legs
Make a loop with brown.
Round: 18.-19. sc in each st around (2 rounds)

Change color and continue with white/naturel.
35. sc2tog, sc in next 19 st (20 sts)
After stuffing the leg you sew or sc tog the 2 opposed st (sc 9) after it’s done cut the yarn while you ensure to
leave enough yarn to sew the legs onto the body. Make another one. Place the legs between round 4 and 10
(see photo for reference).
Hooves:
Fix a long piece of brown yarn stuck to the bottom of the foot (to row 12 of the leg). Then insert the needle
through the top of the foot back and pull it tight. Repeat this one more time.
Arms
Round: 17.-18. sc in each st around (2 rounds)

Change color and continue with white/naturel
Fill the arms with soft stuffing and sew or sc tog the 2 opposed st (sc 8) after it’s done break yarn and make
sure you leave enough yarn to attach the arms to the body. Make another one. Sew the arms onto the body.
Ears
Make a loop with pink/black.
Round:
8. 3 sc, 2 hdc, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 6 sc, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 sc in next st, 6 sc, 2 sc in next
st, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next st, 6 sc, 2 sc in next st
Break yarn. Make 4 pieces, 2 black (outside ear) and 2 pink (inside ear).
To connect the both pieces turn wrong sides together. The pink side faced forward.
Now sc together (with black yarn) one st of both pieces at a time all the way around.
Connect the first and last st of this round with a slst.
Fold the earpiece by bringing point A and point B to the middle (see photo for reference).
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to attach the ears onto the head. Make another one.
Place the ears behind to the eye spots.
Horns
Round:
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough

yarn to sew the horns onto the head.
Fill in some stuffing material and make another one.
Place the horns next to the ears.
Spots
Make a loop with black.
Spot 1 (make 2 of them)
Round:
7. 5 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 dc in next st, 1 hdc,
1 hdc, 2 sc in next st, 5 sc, 2 sc in nex st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc,
2 dc in next st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next st, 5 sc, 2 sc in
next st, 5 sc, 2 sc in next st
8. 6 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in
next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next st, 6 sc,
2 sc in next st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next
st, 2 dc in nex st, 1 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next st, 14 sc
Spot 2 (make 2 of them)
Round:
3. 1 sc, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 8 sc

Break yarn and make sure you leave enough

yarn to sew the spots onto the body, arm and leg.
Tail
Make a with loop with white/naturel.
Round:
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the tail onto the body.
Knit 5 pieces yarn at the end of tail.
Label
Using yellow yarn, make a foundation chain of 8. Insert hook in de 2th chain from hook and work 7 sc.
Round:
2. 1 ch, turn work around, 7 sc

5. 1 ch, turn work around, 2 sc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 2 sc
6. 1 ch, turn work around, 4 sc, 2 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 4 sc
Break yarn and make sure you leave enough yarn to sew the label onto the ear. Embroider with black yarn a
number onto the label.
