Definition of Qalqalah.

Terminologically, Qalqalah is the disturbance of voice when pronouncing a


silent letter (those that have a sukun on it) until a strong tone or echo of
the letter is heard. The Arabic letters of Qalqalah are five
(Dal‫د‬, Jim‫ج‬, Ba‫ب‬, Ta‫ط‬, Qaf‫ )ق‬and can be grouped together in the phrase:
